You know the phrase a match made in heaven? It can definitely be used when talking about this union of Aussie punk heavyweights. Both Mini Skirt (from Byron Bay) and C.O.F.F.I.N (from Sydney) have featured on here previously and both are bloody brilliant. Brilliant alone, and as their new split release proves, equally as brilliant in collaboration. https://www.facebook.com/miniskirt666/ https://www.facebook.com/coffin.aus
The ep features a couple of tracks from each band, it's available now on a split 7" (500 copies but as of writing this very few remaining) and you can find it streaming here : https://coffin-aus.bandcamp.com/album/c-o-f-f-i-n-mini-skirt
The CO.F.F.I.N (Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway) songs rock like fuck (but what else would you expect, these guys are masters of this kind of thing) whilst Mini Skirt offer up possibly my favourite music by them so far (no mean feat!).
I'm going to play a track by each band on the Just Some Punk Songs show later today (https://www.facebook.com/events/4970382709644621/) but for the blog I'm highlighting a song by Mini Skirt which has firmly lodged itself inside my brain. It reminds me of powerful 80's UK anarchic post punk, it's naggingly addictive, it's called DIY Nightmare...
