Top 10 Songs Chosen By Angelo Ruggiero
Back from my holiday so normal service is resumed, today's update is the favourite 10 songs of Angelo Ruggiero. Angelo is from Caracas, Venezuela (it's always good to feature someone who isn't from America or Britain) and is the person behind the excellent blog BEWARE, IT'S RAWK UN ROLL! ( http://rawkunroll.blogspot.co.uk/ ). There's some excellent choices in his list, for song of the day I'm choosing Don't Ask Me by Toy Love. A New Zealand band formed by several members of one of that country's first punk bands, The Enemy, Toy Love released Don't Ask Me as a single in 1980. It was new to me but I like it, hopefully you will too....
1- THE LAST ONES "Bit Of You"
2- ANGRY SAMOANS "My Baby's Gone Gone"
3- TOY LOVE "Don't Ask Me"
4- COCK SPARRER "Again And Again"
5- GENERATION X "New Order"
6- THE INVERSIONS "Hit Me"
7- ELASTICA "Annie"
8- MAINLINER "she's Just A Maybe"
9- THE BEAT "Rock N Roll Girl"
10- DESCENDENTS "Get The Time"
I just wanna hold you
I bought and sold you
I'm leaving it up to you
Leaving it up to you - up to you
Just leaving it up to me
What d'ya say
Leaving it up to you
I just wanna need you
I just wanna feed you
I'm leaving it up to you
I'm leaving it up to you
Leaving it up to you - up to you
Just leaving it up to me
What d'ya say
Leaving it up to you
I wouldn't leave you in the lurch?
You mustn't believe a word?
It's totally absurd
Totally absurd, totally absurd
It's totally absurd
And I just wanna lose you
I need to amuse you?
I'm making it up to you?
I'm leaving it up to you
Leaving it up to you
What do you do
You're leaving it all up to me
What d'ya say
Leaving it up to you
And when I leave you
Will you cry
Will you even care
And am I really here
Or am I somewhere else
It's just the colour of your hair
It's just the way you like to stir?
It's just the colour of your eyes
It's your disguise
I dunno why
It's just the colour of your hair

Thank you Mick!
ReplyDeleteToy Love released three singles and an album. After the band broke up, the guitarist and the vocalist remained together and formed Tall Dwarfs.
I got interested in the New Zealand punk bands after my daughter went to live there. She's not into the punk thing by now but hopefully with time, I will be able to influence her.
