Japanese garage punk heroes Ruler (https://www.facebook.com/Rulertheband) are back with a new single, their 3rd following a couple of winners which both also featured on here ( https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2018/04/ruler-gimme-some-noise.html / https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2018/09/ruler-jeanie-jeanie-jeanie.html).
This time around Otoya (Vocals, Harmonica) Fink (Guitar) & Azu (Bass) have teamed up with Kannana Speedcats drummer Combat who takes over on vocals for a punked up version of The Loco-Motion. Written by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and originally a 1962 hit for Little Eva (and later covered by the likes of Grand Funk Railroad and Kylie Minogue), it's never sounded better.
The song I'm highlighting today though is the flip side which boasts an impressive bit of harmonica work by Otoya which really makes the song.
It's released as a limited edition 7" to coincide with a limited edition cassette tape that was a Japan only release. Only a very small amount of these will be available in the US and Europe. You can get it from Secret Mission Records : https://secretmissionrecords.bandcamp.com/album/loco-motion
This is Action...
