Play Dead - Offy

Back in April 2021 I featured a song by South London trio Play Dead called Skint (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2021/04/play-dead-skint.html) and mentioned how it was a problem most of us can sympathise with. They return today with a new track in which yet again they're tackling real life issues. This time around it's one of those miserable days when you're hanging out in the park with your mates, the weather is wank, you've had nothing to eat and you've run out of booze. Happily, on this occasion you're not totally skint (too skint for food but you can stretch to a few tinnies!) and you can pop back to the off licence for a restock.

Play Dead have a happy knack of writing fresh sounding punk ear worms. They're young lads sharing their experiences and I hope they're around for a long time. They've a new ep on the way, it'll be titled Mug Cake and it'll be out in October via Blitzcat Records (https://blitzcatrecords.com/). To promote it, they'll be touring round England in November.

This is the 2nd single from the ep, the first was the equally infectious Barbershop, and you can find both here : https://weareplaydead.bandcamp.com/

  It's called Offy...
