Pizzatramp - Do Fascists Dream Of Aryan Sheep?

Sometimes you see a song title and you think to yourself "I bet this is going to be good." When that song's by a band as good as Pizzatramp there's not really any doubt.

So Pizzatramp (https://www.facebook.com/Pizzatrampuk); noisy fuckers from Wales. They've been on this blog numerous times before (with songs about stuff like electronic surveillance, global warming threatening the existence of goths, late night binges affecting one's ability to turn up for work and having a bad back). Fast as fuck songs laced with humour.

Today they return with one of two tracks they've contributed to a Four way split which also includes songs by The Atoms, Healer Of Bastards and Shackleford. It's available on 10" vinyl and the Pizzatramp songs are streaming here : https://pizzatramp.bandcamp.com/album/post-punks

A topical tune, this is called Do Fascists Dream Of Aryan Sheep?

This one's for the anti anteefas
This one's for the white pride believers
This one's for those old pensioner fucks
This one's for the nazi cunts

It's for the Union Jack
This one's for every attack
This one's for thugs getting their kicks
This one’s for the alt right pricks

It’s for the working class Tories
This one’s for “the pride and the glory”
This one’s for the Mail and the Sun
This one’s for the ukip scum

Albert Einstein said and I quote
“Racism is like a disease”
He’s a right clever physics cunt
So I’m inclined to agree

It’s caught
It’s taught
It’s bought
Fought

Learned
Passed down
Systemic
Pandemic

Apéro - I Hate Fascist Billionaires

It's always a good start to the day when you wake up and then discover some great new music before breakfast.

Apéro are an anti-fascist egg punk band from both Hamburg (Germany) and Sénas (France). They line up like this; Rock (Synth, Vocals, Percussion), Kris Kandinsky (Bass, Vocals) & Kem Trail (Guitar, Vocals).

They've just released an album titled Cold Drinks, Cool Snacks and it's a thing of beauty. Aggressive budget priced synths and shouty vocals. Just when it seemed obvious that Nevermind, Whatever by Xray Xeroxx (https://xrayxeroxx.bandcamp.com/album/nevermind-whatever) was going to walk away with the accolade of best egg punk release of the summer, Apéro come out of nowhere as serious rivals.

Lots of great songs to choose from but I'm going with this one. It's called I Hate Fascist Billionaires...

 I hate fascist billionaires
 I don't know why
Last night i met one on the street
I had to to start a fight
 I hate fascist billionaires
 They have too much power
 I got no money
 They own the Eiffel tower
 Go away
 I hate fascist billionaires
 Each and everyone
 Go build your rockets
 And shoot into the sun
 I hate fascist billionaires
I like cold drinks and cool snacks
 But everything i buy
 Adds more to their bank
 Go away

Pussyliquor - Young Love Fresh Blood

This one's very much hitting the sweet spot today, it's a dose of pure uncensored female rage from Brighton all girl punk band Pussyliquor (https://www.facebook.com/pxssyliqxor).

Featuring a line up of Ari Black (vocals), Hannah Villanueva  (guitar), Tallulah Turner-Fray (bass),  Victoria Lewis Piper (drums) & Oshen Dee (guitar), they're an energetic riot grrrl explosion of spit and bile.

They've just released a new video and I doubt you'll have seen the wanton destruction of so many sausages anywhere else. I'm guessing the girls are big on metaphors.

Check it out. This is Young Love Fresh Blood...

Screaming Target - Screaming Target

Screaming Target... Who are they? I'm afraid I've not much info on this band. Supposedly they're a new Melbourne supergroup featuring Troy (vocals), Kirk (drums), Moose (bass), Ben (guitar) & Grace (guitar).

They've just released a 6 track Demo and it's mighty fine. Guitar led garage punk, check it out "name your price" here : https://screamingtarget.bandcamp.com/album/screaming-target-demo-2025

This track is the eponymously titled Screaming Target...

Everywhere you look
Every time your feet touch to the floor
You wanna spread your wings
The grass is always green until it’s yours
You think your life is but a dream
Until you hear the target scream
Is it enough? Is it ever enough?
Is it ever gonna be enough for you?
When they suffer, when they struggle, when they’re buried under rubble, even living is a violent thing to do
When you’re looking in the mirror does it send a little shiver through whatever’s where your spine is meant to be?
You’ll never sleep a wink at night
The SCREAMING TARGET never dies
Have you had enough? Is it ever enough?
Is it ever gonna be enough? Fuck you
You’re never ready for the screaming target
You can’t be ready for the screaming target
You’re never ready when the screaming targets you

The Cars That Ate Paris - Girls On Telephones

The Cars That Ate Paris (https://www.facebook.com/thecarsthatateParisuk) are a fun lot. They're a DIY psychedelic punk ensemble from Leicester featuring a line up of Rob (guitar/vocals), Steve (bass), Mat (keyboards/Kaos pad), Maria (vocals) & Lauren (drums/vocals). Helping expand their sound on their newly released 2nd album are Thor (saxophone), Kev (lead guitar), Craig (saxophone), Sarah (triangle) & Zoe (spoken word intro).

The albums titled Barely Concealed Chaos with The Cars that Ate Paris and it's a brimming over with a cornucopia of interesting ideas. There's a myriad of influences, it's an album that should have something for everyone. Check it out :

This song's a particular favourite, it was "inspired by a long and tiresome bus journey having no choice but to hear one side of a phone call."  It brings to mind some of the coolest late 70's/early 80's post punk bands (Delta 5, Liliput, Girls At Our Best etc etc etc) and it's called Girls On Telephones...

Girls on telephones (yap yap yap yap)
Girls on telephones (yap yap yap)
Girls on telephones (yap yap yap yap)
Girls on telephones (yap yap yap)

Girls on telephones
Girls on telephones
Always on the
on the telephone (yap yap yap yap yap yap yap)

Even on the bus (yap yap yap yap)
Even in the bath (yap yap yap)
Even when they’re cycling
on the cycle path (yap yap yap)

Girls on telephones
Girls on telephones
Always on the
on the telephone (yap yap yap yap yap yap yap)

Even in the pub (yap yap yap yap)
Even on the bog (yap yap yap)
When they're out walking
With their little dog (yap yap yap)

Girls on telephones
Girls on telephones
Always on the
on the telephone (yap yap yap yap yap yap yap)

Even at a gig
Even in the shop
Like a Jack Russel
They never ever stop

Girls on telephones
Girls on telephones
Always on the
on the telephone (yap yap yap yap yap yap yap)

If they’re happy
If they’re sad
If they’re bored
If they’re mad
If something’s happened
Or something’s not
If there’s some detail
they forgot

Girls on telephones girls on telephones
Girls on telephones
Always on the
on the telephone (yap yap yap yap yap yap yap)

Martha - Gretna Green

Durham DIY pop punks Martha (https://www.facebook.com/marthadiy) return today with a song from a new compilation album they've just released.

They've featured numerous times previously on here so I suppose no introductions are necessary so let me just tell you that the album is titled Standing Where It All Began - Singles and B-Sides: 2012-2025. A self explanatory title describing exactly what you're going to get. 20 tracks, (re)mastered by Dave Williams, roughly half of which are original compositions with the remainder being covers of songs by the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Marked Men, Lemonheads etc.

You can find it on vinyl and digital here :

This song first featured on the band's 2012 Self Titled ep and the band had this to say about it :

The Quintinshill Rail Disaster happened in Scotland on 22nd May 1915. It remains the worst rail crash in UK history in terms of death toll, killing 226 people and involving five separate trains. It having occurred just a couple of miles from Gretna Green, a place symbolic of young love and recklessness, lends another layer of bittersweet tragedy to the disaster. This song is about a couple ripped apart by the crash, and deals with the idea of enduring love. In that sense, if no other, it’s a love song.

  It's called Gretna Green...

I said “I don’t believe in marriage,
It’s a Patriarchal scam”.
You said “meet me at the station,
Train departs at 6am”,
I packed my bags and left my politics in bed,
And I waited on the platform,
With your smile stuck in my head.

So we went through the rain to the place where we found our hearts.
They were buried under shit and old debris.
And I swear that I had something,
And I know you felt it too,
But that commute at Quintinshill defeated me.

In spite of everything I’ve done,
I’ll knuckle down, I’ll carry on,
In spite of everything that’s wrong,
I’ll try to write a hopeful song,
No matter where I go,
No matter what I do,
My heart will always be at Gretna Green,
Waiting there for you.

At Gretna, I wait for you.

Roxie & the Razorblades - No More War No More Genocide

So, what went down well on last night's Just Some Punk Songs show? Quite a few of the songs actually and this was certainly one of them.

Roxie & the Razorblades (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61576340464669) are from London and feature Roxie C. (Vocals/Lead Guitar), Queen ElizaDeath (Vocals/Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar), Lil' P (Rhythm Guitar), Ivy (Bass) & Sloppy (Drums).

They play an infectious brand of old school street punk and they've just released a very impressive album titled Eat The Rich. They say it deals with "addiction, the gutter, rehab, the evil in the world that strangles all that is beautiful, but more importantly, about hope and overcoming. We sing about that and of course, our beloved Canning Town, Hammers football club."

It's available as a name your price download on Bandcamp so grab a copy and sing along :  https://roxietherazorblades.bandcamp.com/album/eat-the-rich

In times like these when you can run foul of those in power for calling for the end to the indiscriminate killing of innocent women and children, this is a band that aren't afraid to call for the liberation of Palestine. They sum things up well in this song, it's called No More War No More Genocide...

Boots hit the pavement stomping hard through the night Gaslights flicker but they can't find what's right Fists in the air and teeth clenched tight Tomorrow ain't promised we fight this fight

No more war no more genocide Tired of the blood tired of the lies Broken bricks and shattered pride No more war no more genocide

Rust on the rails and smoke in the rain We’re swapping our chains for smashes of change Streets torn open red like a vein The screams of the lost still standing in pain

No more war no more genocide Tired of the blood tired of the lies Broken bricks and shattered pride No more war no more genocide

The banners are ragged the boots are worn But the fire in us can't be ignored Oi shouts echo in a back-alley morn Politics for people it’s time to be reborn

No more war no more genocide We've had enough no compromise Locked and loaded the truth won’t hide No more war no more genocide

Big Life - Something I Learned Today

Big Life are a melodic hardcore punk band from Detroit, Michigan who feature a line up of Ryan Allen (guitar/vocals), Sean Gauvreau (bass), Dan Nixon (vocals) & Jordan Vonzynda (drums).

They've previously released a couple of eps and they feature on here today with a new track which is a cover of a Hüsker Dü classic.

The song originally appeared on Hüsker Dü's 1984 album Zen Arcade and I think it's fair to say that Big Life do it justice. It's available as a name your price download :  https://biglifehc.bandcamp.com/track/something-i-learned-today

This is Something I Learned Today...

Something I learned todayBlack and white is always grayLooking through the windowpaneI'm not inside your brain, your brain
Something I learned todayYield to the right of wayStopping at a four-way signSomeone else's rules, not mine, not mine
Something I learned todayNever look straight in the sun's raysLetting all the sunshine inCan't remember where I've been, I've been
Something I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned todaySomething I learned today

CRUELSTER - Jerks

Today's song is a joy. It's shouty, it's got a catchy as hell chorus and the video left me grinning ear to ear. There's even a Ramones inspired "2nd verse, different from the 1st" bridge.

Cruelster (https://www.facebook.com/cruelsteroh) are from Cleveland, Ohio and I previously featured them on here last year when their singles collection Lost Inside My Mind In Another State of Mind got a release by Drunken Sailor Records. The song I posted was their wonderful cover of I Love It (which was originally a hit for Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX).   https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2024/02/cruelster-i-love-it.html

The line up of the band is Michael Gill (Vocals), Nathan Ward (Guitar/Vocals), Alex Ward (Bass/Vocals), Jo Coone (Drums) & Connor Simpson (Guitar).

A couple of weeks ago on the show I played the first release (Nuclear Word) from their upcoming album Make Them Wonder Why. It was a great teaser track. The 2nd teaser track is even better. The album's promising to be a classic. There'll be a mammoth 21 songs and it'll be available on July 11th via Convulse Records https://convulserecords.bandcamp.com/album/make-them-wonder-why

This is Jerks. Play loud and enjoy...

Nomatrix - Eulogy

Nomatrix (https://www.facebook.com/nomatrixband) are an Irish punk band from Athlone who formed in 1997 and who previously featured on here 7 years ago  https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2018/08/nomatrix-throughput-will-be-down.html

They can always be relied on to put out impressive punk rock tunes with last year's Reawaken album being a testament to that  https://deadlambrecords.bandcamp.com/album/nomatrix-reawaken

Further proof is provided by their new 4 song ep. It's titled Slíbhín (which is an Irish word for a sneaky sneak who is sly and untrustworthy) and it's available on cd and digital download from Dead Lamb Records https://deadlambrecords.bandcamp.com/album/nomatrix-sl-bh-n

All the songs are worthy of treating your ears to but the one I'm highlighting is the ep closer. It's called Eulogy...

The Scunthorpe Yobs - Sing Through the Pain

The Scunthorpe Yobs are the anthemic oi! band originally from Lincolnshire who followed in the footsteps of Bladder Bladder Bladder (if you're unfamiliar with them then try and track down the compilation album Giving Punk A Bad Name that they released earlier this year. Josh reviewed it on Faster And Louder https://fasterandlouderblog.blogspot.com/2025/02/bladder-bladder-bladder-giving-punk-bad.html).

The Scunthorpe Yobs themselves last featured on here 18 months ago with a track from their debut album We Are The Yobs https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2023/11/the-scunthorpe-yobs-spirit-of-79.html

They return today with a song from their new album Kick It 'Til It Breaks which is available via No Front Teeth Records and Wanda Records. You can check the album out on Spotify  https://open.spotify.com/album/1g1QS44NG4xx3qhMAynanq

The song I'm featuring is the album closer. A typically rowdy singalong, it's called Sing Through The Pain...
