The Cars That Ate Paris (https://www.facebook.com/thecarsthatateParisuk) are a fun lot. They're a DIY psychedelic punk ensemble from Leicester featuring a line up of Rob (guitar/vocals), Steve (bass), Mat (keyboards/Kaos pad), Maria (vocals) & Lauren (drums/vocals). Helping expand their sound on their newly released 2nd album are Thor (saxophone), Kev (lead guitar), Craig (saxophone), Sarah (triangle) & Zoe (spoken word intro).
The albums titled Barely Concealed Chaos with The Cars that Ate Paris and it's a brimming over with a cornucopia of interesting ideas. There's a myriad of influences, it's an album that should have something for everyone. Check it out :
This song's a particular favourite, it was "inspired by a long and tiresome bus journey having no choice but to hear one side of a phone call." It brings to mind some of the coolest late 70's/early 80's post punk bands (Delta 5, Liliput, Girls At Our Best etc etc etc) and it's called Girls On Telephones...
