You may remember that I posted a song in January by a new band from Melbourne called Split System and mentioned it was one of 5 songs that they'd recorded in their first and up until then only jam (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2022/01/split-system-hit-me.html). I mentioned that the band featured an impressive line up; Jackson Reid Briggs - Vocals (Jackson Reid Briggs & The Heaters) Arron Mawson - Guitar (Stiff Richards) Ryan Webb - Guitar (Speed Week) Deon Slaviero - Bass (The Black Heart Death Cult) Mitch McGregor - Drums (No Zu). I also said there'd be an ep later this year.
Well that ep has arrived. It features the remaining tracks from that jam and happily they're up to the standard of that impressive calling card. The ep is a Self Titled affair and it's available on 7" limited bone vinyl via Legless Records. If you like the garage punk stylings of Jackson Reid Briggs & The Heaters or Stiff Richards then you'll be all over this release. You can grab it here : https://splitsystem.bandcamp.com/album/split-system
This track is called Climbing...
