The Shang Hi Los - Billy

I was going to post this song a couple of week's ago but noticed Josh over at Faster and Louder got in first and as his reviews are much better than mine I decided to hang fire. But it's such a great song, and it went down so well when I played it on last week's show that I'm going with it today.

The Shang Hi Los (https://www.facebook.com/ShangHiLos) are from Boston and feature a line up of Jen D'Angora (Vocals/Guitar), Dan Kopko (Guitars/Vocals/Whip), Lee Harrington (Bass) & Chuck Ferreira (Drums/Percussion). The song you'll find below is being pitched as a mix of Blondie and Ennio Morricone. It's got a spaghetti western vibe that'd sound great on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack. It features a guest turn by Chris Barrett on trumpet and mellotron. It's something a little different (I like the spaghetti rock tag on Bandcamp) and it has me eagerly awaiting the release of their new album.

The album will be out later this year on Rum Bar Records but for now you can get the song plus the first teaser single, Plymouth Rock, here : https://theshanghilos.bandcamp.com/

A taste of the wild west, this is Billy...

Did you see him standing there in the paper moon?
With a silhouette and a silver spoon...

Billy, all my love is so translucid
A glimmer in the sun that bleached out bruises
Any time at all, his call

Billy, on the run, luck down and museless
Trigger of a gun, somebody shooting
Any time at all, his call

Billy's got a gun..
