Stepmother - Fade Away

Amongst the bookmarks on my pc I have a fairly long list of cool record labels' Bandcamp pages which I'll work my way through every week in order to try not to miss out on too many good new releases. One of those bookmarks is for Legless Records from Rye in Australia. Their catalogue includes releases by the likes of Stiff Richards, Jackson Reid Briggs & The Heaters, cutters, C.O.F.F.I.N etc. It's a brilliant label and today I'm featuring their latest "hit".

Stepmother are a new power trio fronted by Graham Clise (Annihilation Time, Lecherous Gaze, Rot TV, Witch). He's backed by Rob Muinos (Bass / Vocals) & Sam Rains (Drums). They're described as equal parts motor city proto punk and feedback drenched fuzz on the darker side of psychedelia. Comparisons are made to the likes of Blue Cheer, Nervous Eaters, The Damned and The Pink Fairies. For a more contemporary reference, I can hear hints of fellow Aussies Civic. They claim to play anthems for the poor depraved sickos and rock n roll miscreants residing on this doomed planet with tunes about nuclear armageddon, torture and supernatural entities.

Legless will be releasing their debut 7" in a couple of months and to give us an idea what to expect they've posted a teaser single. You can find it here : https://stepmother1.bandcamp.com/track/fade-away

If you like your punk rock down and dirty with plenty of impressive guitar licks then this'll be right up your street. It's called Fade Away...
