When looking for info about new Brighton band Top Left Club I noticed that their line up included Johnny Hartless, Mac Daddy, Jimi Dymond and Tim Cox. A couple of those names stood out as being familiar and a bit of checking revealed that Mac Daddy and Jimi Dymond have featured on here previously as members of both Rotten Foxes and Young Francis Hi Fi. The other 2 guys it turns out are from Skinny Milk.
Anyway, they've just released a debut album titled Shoulders At 90 and it's damn good. It's 11 "raw, pure songs filled with visceral energy will saturate every corner of your mind, potentially changing the course of your life" from a band that take no prisoners.
So can we expect the hardcore speed punk that was Rotten Foxes or Skinny Milk's psychedelic fuzz? The answer is no, not really. Elements of both bands aren't completely dispensed with but this time around we're treated to energetic garage punk which is augmented by the addition of some dirty synth. It's available on vinyl from Beast Records (https://www.beast-records.com/) and you can get it here : https://topleftclub.bandcamp.com/releases
This is one of the songs that stood out on first listen, it's called I C U Tonight...
