NOi!SE - Lost

Tacoma streetpunks NOi!SE (https://www.facebook.com/destinycitynoise/) are no strangers to Just Some Punk Songs but it's been a couple of years since I featured their Mass Apathy single so it's good to have them back today with one of their two new singles. Lining up with Matt Henson (vocals/bass), Nate Leinfelder (vocals/rhythm guitar), Jesse O'Donnell (lead guitar) and Kenny Dirkes (drums), they dropped the first of those singles, the one you'll find below, a few days ago. It's available from Pirate's Press Records on 12" UV digitally printed vinyl (limited edition, 500 copies) and as a digital download : https://shop.piratespressrecords.com/products/noi-se-lost-12-single

The other single is called Price We Pay and is on 7" orange vinyl (1000 copies). It targets the prison-industrial complex and delivers an important message on behalf of those that may not share the same privileges as many of us do. You can get it here :   https://shop.piratespressrecords.com/collections/new-featured-music/products/noi-se-price-we-pay-7-orange

Matt Henson has always had one of the most distinctive voices around and he's sounding both on top form and very passionate as he asks if anger and greed have led us so far astray we can't find our way back. A triumphant return from a vital band. This is called Lost...

Far from what we know A fire burned the shores While we drifted out to sea Lured out by a lie disguised as fate Doom disguised as dreams What has anger done? What have we become? Drifted out to sea so far we can’t return Greed has made us leave a place we should’ve stayed Are we burning everything our fathers made False perception that we see Telling us that ignorance protects identity If only there was light To guide us back to being Better than the people we became when we drifted out to sea For a false identity What has anger done? What have we become? Drifted out to sea so far we can’t return Greed has made us leave a place we should’ve stayed Are we burning everything our fathers made What has anger done? What have we become? Drifted out to sea so far we can’t return Greed has made us leave a place we should’ve stayed Are we burning everything our fathers made

NOi!SE - Mass Apathy (ft. Skinhead Rob)

A 4 piece streetpunk band from Seattle, Noi!se are no strangers to Just Some Punk Songs and they return today with a new single. It features guest vocals from Skinhead Rob (Transplants) and all proceeds will go to charity.

Lining up with Matt Henson (vocals/bass), Nate Leinfelder (vocals/rhythm guitar), Jesse O'Donnell (lead guitar) and Kenny Dirkes (drums) the band have a number of gigs lined up with the likes of The Generators, Street Dogs and Slapshot and you can check out details here :  https://www.facebook.com/destinycitynoise/

The single is a topical commentary on the issue of gun violence, especially the amount of school shooting in the United States (even as I'm writing this there's yet another mass shooting being reported). The goal of this release is to get people standing up and demanding changes to policies that endanger the lives and futures of America's children. It'll be available on Black Friday (23rd Nov) on 12" via Pirate's Press Records. You can vote to nominate which charities benefit : http://piratespressrecords.com/noise-mass-apathy/

The A side is on Bandcamp :  https://noisepunk.bandcamp.com/album/mass-apathy-single

"How many more fucking children have to die?" ask the band. Powerful stuff and speaking as a Brit I find it absolutely absurd that the American government are so much under the thumb of the gun lobby that their answer to the problem seems to be "let's have even more guns!". Absolutely batshit crazy, though it seems the majority don't care enough to effect change. This is Mass Apathy...

All told, it’s just a scam
They’re selling values from the back of a van
We line up for a front row seat to the sham
Synthetic sympathy and internet blame
We bury kids and we say “it’s a shame”
Concern lasts less than murderers minutes of fame
Innocent lives just fodder for a meme
Totality imminent, there’s no in between
Reason has disappeared behind computer screens
Have you ever walked through the ICU past beds of kids the bullets tore through
A comatose friend with a bullet in his head and very low chance that he would live
It can all change in the blink of an eye, try to duck when the bullets fly by
All the time, senseless crimes and you're arguing like senseless minds
Here we go, one more round.
Another shot, another down.
How many more fuckin children have to die?
There're just kids, not enemies.
Ignorance, the worst disease.
Cock 'em back, let 'em fuckin fly.

NOi!SE - Dull The Pain

Noi!se previously appeared on this blog a couple of years ago (http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/noise-pawn-in-game.html) and more recently a couple of members of the band featured with acoustic side project Stadium Way (http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/stadium-way-shadows.html).

Happily they're back with a song from the new double A sided single which is out on 2nd September on Pirates Press Records and Randale Records. As well as a single, there's also a new album, The Real Enemy, which will be along this Autumn.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that they're are one of the shining lights of the current oi/street punk resurgence, if the single is anything to go by, the album is going to be a classic. This is Dull The Pain.......

Noi!se - Pawn in the Game

I've had a really good track from the new album by Noi!se queued up for adding for a couple of weeks now but have been slightly sidetracked rattling through a few of the old classics I wanted to get posted. Today however I've just read a glowing review of The Scars We Hide on Dying Scene ( http://dyingscene.com/news/album-review-noise-the-scars-we-hide/ ) and it's made me decide to add the song today. Noi!se are a 4 piece from Tacoma and Seattle who are inspired by all your favourite street punk and oi bands (Cock Sparrer, SLF, Blitz, Anti-Heroes, Menace, The Templers etc), they write songs that deal with world issues and their take on things as opposed to what you might read in the popular press. Since forming in 2009 and then releasing their first ep in 2010, they've been fairly productive, releasing a couple of albums and several ep's (including a split with Street Dogs). Impressive stuff considering a couple of them serve in the US army and therefore find the time they can spend on band duties somewhat limited. Frontman Matt Henson has one of the best voices around and he also plays a mean bass, as evidenced on this track, from the new album, this is Pawn In The Game......
