With a General Election less than a week away here in Britain, it's probably not a bad time to post a song called Government Lies. The song's not only aptly named and lyrically spot on, it's also very catchy.
Bishops Green are a street/oi band from Vancouver who are very much influenced by the classic European style of punk, groups like Cock Sparrer, Cockney Rejects, The Partisans etc won't be strangers to their turntables.
Despite being around a good number of years and having members who've graced the likes of The Lancasters, Subway Thugs & Alternate Action it wasn't until 2011 that they coalesced into the unit that's currently the object of seemingly universal praise amongst genre fans and critics.
A self titled debut ep hit the streets in 2013 and this was followed by the Gross And Net single before March 2014 saw the release of the Pressure album. Not letting the grass grow under their feet they're back with new album, A Chance To Change, from which the aforementioned Government Lies is taken. Released in Europe on the Rebellion label and North America through Longshot Music and Pirates Press it's already begun stacking up rave reviews.
A tale of corporate greed and government lies, turn up the volume and enjoy....
