Gulls. - SHOP

Gulls are a punk 3 piece from Brighton who formed in 2016 and who's line up is Rhi Kavok (poetry), Trixie Dean (aka Boe H) (guitar/vocals) and Matt Hickin (drums). I've seen their sound described as being akin to Sleaford Mods in a high speed collision with Bikini Kill on bumper cars whilst Rhi's poetry tackles themes of local and global injustice. Wittily they tag themselves as playing Brighton rock.

You can get more info on them here : https://www.facebook.com/gullsbandbtn/ and here :   https://www.gullsband.co.uk/

A couple of months ago they released an excellent single (which I managed to miss as I obviously don't spend enough time online looking for new music!) but which attracted the attention of Tom Robinson who played them on his Radio 6 show. If like me you've been unaware of them till now I think you'll like it. Inspired by the closure and sale to property developers of Kensal Rise Library it's a protest song about gentrification and it's called SHOP...
