THE SOCIAL - WWIII

  

  Today's song is an up tempo UK82 inspired stomper by a band from Liverpool called THE SOCIAL. They feature members of Violent Reaction, The Flex, Salem Rages and Pardon Us.

Thatcher's Snatch - White Collar Man

  

  A band very much inspired by your favourite early 80's punk outfits on Just Some Punk Songs today. The song I'm posting reminding me very much, musically, of Tube Disasters by Flux Of Pink Indians (a song which not many others of that era bettered).

  Thatcher's Snatch are the wonderfully named quintet from Naam/Melbourne who featured on here early last year with a track from their cracking debut Self Titled ep (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2022/01/thatchers-snatch-wapping-dispute.html).

  Tomorrow sees the release of the follow up, the White Collar Man ep, which will be available via Hardcore Victim Records https://hardcorevictim.bandcamp.com/

  It's an ep which vocalist Brownie suggests is their “Warhead (UK Subs) banger” (and I can hear that influence as much as the Flux one).

  Will it be as impressive as the debut? Going by the evidence of the title track, I'd say Hell Yeah! The band are promising "one ballad with basslines that duck and weave like Stacy Jones at the 2002 grand final and two raging tracks that give high nods to the glory days of Riot City, Clay records and other UK82 classics." 

  Not long to wait before we enjoy the full ep but to keep us going, here's White Collar Man... 

Tizzi - Brain Storm

    

  Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, Tizzi played their first ever gig in October 2019 and began to make waves in their local area playing an exciting brand of hard hitting UK82 inspired punk rock. And then the pandemic locked everything down and pretty much scuppered that building momentum. 

  But in March last year they managed to get together long enough to record half a dozen songs and these have just been released in the form of an explosive introductory demo tape which allows the rest of the world to hear why they were gaining a reputation as one of Raleigh's hottest new bands. 

  Straight from the off, the fat free blast of opening track No Shit let's us know what we're in for. Comparisons have been made with Vice Squad but "delivered mean as fuck with troglodyte-like force."

  It's an impressive debut and you can get it on cassette or digital download from Bunker Punks (although it looks as though they're not taking international orders).
