Clobber - Hang Grifters Not Flags

Just noticed a comment on the last update. ANGRY PUNKPOP HARMONY ROCKERS! says "Hey, what's going on? I miss your punk news updates. Please keep going!"

  This one's for you...

Clobber (https://www.facebook.com/Clobber.uk) are a hardcore punk band from London who've previously featured on here a couple of times  https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2022/01/clobber-karens-gammons-hippies.html

https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2024/02/clobber-council-estate-of-mind.html

They've a new song out that not only sounds great but which features a sentiment I wholeheartedly agree with. It's not on Bandcamp as I type this out but it is on Spotify.

https://open.spotify.com/track/4h1SFyGGGXDGE6UhTxuvfX?autoplay_ok=1

Lend it your ears, it's called Hang Grifters Not Flags...

The shyster is coming in hot
And he′s armed with the word of god
Followed by his brain dead troops
To wave flags and recruit the youth
So what? He's got bad press
He needs it like a shot in the neck
Live by the sword
Die by the coin
Always another party to join
Grifter grifter wouldn′t wanna be you
Grifter grifter bury your leader
The gammons all love and trust
Whatever they read in the fucking sun
How dare you say you love this land
Then throw salutes with your right hand
Five fucking years later
And I'm still here singing about
Hanging rich cunts
When's it gonna end?
I believe I can see the future
Because we live in the fucking past
Take all your ideologues
Hang em all
At half mast
Hang (hang) hang grifters not flags
Tell (tell) tell Tommy to pack his bags
Hang (hang) hang grifters not flags
Tell (tell) tell Tommy to pack his bags

CLEAN SLATE (Ft. BRÈAGHA CUINN) - Bus

  Hello again.

Is this blog dead? Maybe. I guess time will tell. But for today at least there's still a flickering pulse...

CLEAN SLATE (https://www.instagram.com/weare_cleanslateband) are a punk 2 piece from Glasgow who recently released a debut ep titled Ren Skiffer. It's an energetic affair which you can find as a name your price download on Bandcamp .  https://cleanslatescot.bandcamp.com/album/ren-skiffer

It's what the Just Some Punk Songs blog was intended for. A noise that assaulted my ears and made me think "That needs attention drawing to it."

So here's a track that features Brèagha Cuinn from Bratakus and it's called Bus...

Ever been on a bus?
1 2 3 4
Sitting on the bus
and you're behind me (you're behind)
Im just tryna make it home (make it home)
Sitting on the bus
and you're behind me (you're behind)
Will you leave me the fuck alone

You mockingly calling me
a rockstar (rockstar)
Is really making me want to drive a car
(Drive a car)

You think because you
have a U25 bus pass (u25)
It makes you some sort of
Bus-lord-dictator
You're a bus lord dictator

Sitting on the bus
and you're behind me (you're behind)
Im just tryna make it home (make it home)
Sitting on the bus
and you're behind me (you're behind)
Will you leave me the fuck alone

You like punk music?
You do now.

PSST - Unwanted Male

Psycho Sexual Sex Terrestrials (or PSST for short) were a punk/indie band from Rhyl, North Wales who were active between 1990 and 1993.

Recently they returned, suited and rebooted with original members Paul Hammond (vocals) and Dean Roberts (guitar/vocals) being joined by the next generation of the band, Paul's daughter Jesse who does her first stint as a singer and pulls it off beautifully.

They've just released an album titled Greatest Failures in which some of their old songs have been given a make over and sound much improved. The album's on Weekend Offender Records and is available on 12" Lathe Cut Record (Red,White and Black) and as a digital download :  https://weekendoffenderrecords.bandcamp.com/album/greatest-failures

This song featured on last night's Just Some Punk Songs show as one of the listeners' favourite songs from the first half of the year. It's called Unwanted Male...

Triple Lutz - Don't Wake Daddy

For today's update I'm highlighting a song from an excellent debut album by Triple Lutz (https://www.facebook.com/triplelutzpdx). I think I'll just quote what it says about them on Bandcamp as it's a very on point summation...

TRIPLE LUTZ is punk rock/Tonya Hardingcore from Portland, Oregon's. Half queer, half feminine and half naughty💀! they're full of raw energy and a roaring rage “This month they will release their first full-length album entitle Hands of an Angry Mob” Peace and Love, No Violence, No Homophobic, No Sexism, Destroy Racism and Long Live the Anarquista.

I've already played a couple of songs on the show. Songs that had me eagerly awaiting the album's release. Now it's here and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The line up of the band is Asher (Lead Voxx), Kay Morrisette (Guitars, Voxx),  Sean Farrell (Bass, Voxx) & Lily Bry (Drums, Voxx). They've released a debut that'll not only appeal to the hardcore kids but on the evidence of tracks such as Dead Grass should reach a wider audience (in a similar kinda way as Mannequin Pussy).

It's available on vinyl via SBAM records https://sbam-rocks.us/

  And as a digital download : https://triplelutzpdx.bandcamp.com/album/in-the-hands-of-an-angry-mob

I'll post something different to the tracks I've played on the show, this is Don't Wake Daddy...

EKGS - Jealous Again

EKGS are a new band to me. Bandcamp proclaims them to be purveyors of extremely violent and disrespectful classic Pittsburgh Hardcore.

They've released a cassette on local label Kill Enemy Records that's titled Jealous As Fuck. It's limited to 76 copies but it's also available as a name your price download  https://killenemyrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ekgs-jealous-as-fuck-cs

Amongst the 7 songs are 2 Black Flag covers. This is one of them. Originally the title track of a classic 1980 ep, this is Jealous Again...

You're jealous againNo, she's just a friendWhy can't I do anything without being yelled at?
Always on the phoneNever leave me aloneWhy don't you tell me what the fuck you want from me
Say I'll never gonna leave yaNo, I'll never leave yaIt's not the endNo, it's not the end
I won't beat you upI won't push you around'Cause if I do, the cops will get me for doing it
I wanna go and have some funGo where the action isWho the hell are you to tell me who my friends are
Say I'll never gonna leave yaNo, I'll never leave yaIt's not the endNo, it's not the end
Say I'll never gonna leave yaNo, I'll never leave yaIt's not the endNo, it's not the end
You're jealous againYou're jealous againYou're jealous againAnd again and again

PEACHY - 13 (Guest Review By Ralph J Rivera)

Another fantastic new band from the Rock & Roll factory that is Australia. "PEACHY" is an all-female powerhouse from Brisbane that specialize in tits out, in your face Punk Rock. https://peachyband.bandcamp.com/album/body-horror.

To all the women out there - You HAVE to listen to the song "13" and follow along with the lyrics. It nearly brought me to tears. I swear men will never understand the bullshit that we put females through from the time they hit fucking puberty!

"Wait4Me" is a slower, Post-Punk style love song that really hits you in "the feels". Melita, Georgina, Madi & Eliza - These ladies really have it going on musically & lyrically. Total package. At 5 songs this is a nice introduction to a very talented up & coming band from a country that seems to breed them. Highly Recommended Listening.

Here's one of the most personal songs I've ever heard a female Punk band throw down - the amazing "13"

VERSE 1 I was thirteen, I was thirteen, when he touched me he was thirteen, Older boys said to try. Felt so unclean, kind of scary, but I felt seen and I thought, That’s just how it went with the guys. I was fifteen, I was fifteen, and I’m running, they’re all yelling, From the window (of) their car, In their twenties, always scared me it’s so obscene that I thought, That’s just how the young guys are. VERSE 2 I was eighteen, I was eighteen, you were smoking, you were waiting, At the back of the bar, Under my skirt, tried to grab me, you’re a stranger, And it hit your hands before they got to far. In my twenties, in my twenties, I was walking, you were stalking as I tried to go home. You were waiting at my window, told my housemates, and they said, That’s just how it always goes. CHORUS x2 I don’t wanna be confused, with an object you can use, I don’t wanna excuse any time you, Amuse yourself at my expense. VERSE 3 Now I’m thirty, now I’m thirty, try to, Hurt me, you’d be joking, I just dare you to try. We’re no longer, only thirteen and we’ll fight back. You’re not safe behind those lies, now I’m, Older, I’m stronger, I realise how wrong were, the Things you did to me, to satisfy your needs, I’m Sick of excuses, the big and small abuses that were made. CHORUS x 2 BRIDGE x2 So fuck you, for the trauma, You make my skin crawl, and we don’t want you. OUTRO She said, Every woman has a story, and I hate that it’s the truth. I’m so sick and tired of worrying, there’s just no more, Excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, Excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse. What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? What’s your excuse? There’s no excuse?

RATSALAD. - North West Coastal Highway

Often punk songs can be serious and can express frustrations or anger about the world we live in. Sometimes they can be more personal and deal with the writer's state of mind. This song is just fun.

RATSALAD. (https://www.facebook.com/weareratsalad) are 3 mates from Geraldton, Australia making noise.

They recently released an album titled Pest From The West. I played a song from it on a recent show (the fast paced and highly addictive Bike Beach Pub). It's one highlight on a very fine album.

  https://ratsaladband.bandcamp.com/album/pest-from-the-west

Another highlight is this song about what might happen when nature calls whilst you're on a road trip. It's called North West Coastal Highway...

Stop for a piss on the side of the road
Had a couple beers time to lighten the load
Out in the desert not a tree in sight
But I don't give a fuck I don't really mind
The gascoyne sun's burning bloody hot
Nobody around I pop a little squat
Got the ute as a shield I start to break the seal
Yeah everything's going my way!
BUT I FORGOT
KEN'S THE FUNNIEST MAN ALIVE HE GOES
OI WATCH THIS ERICA
PUTS THE UTE INTO DRIVE
So I'm squattin and I'm pissin
And I'm watchin and I'm wishin
That the ute didn't just drive away
But I'm laughing cos it's funny
It's just me and my bare bum here out
Whizzin on the shoulder of the highway
Then a horn blasts as a car drives past
Gaping and gawking at my bare arse
Oh fuckin fuck
Faaaaaaaaaark

I mooned an old lady
On the north west coastal highway
Pissed all over my own pants
Tryin to run away
I mooned an old lady
On the north west coastal highway
Pissed all over myself
Fuck yeah

I mooned an old lady
On the north west coastal highway
Pissed all over my own pants
Tryin to run away
I mooned an old lady
On the north west coastal highway
Pissed all over myself
Fuck yeah

Blind Eye - Darts Cards Bingo

(photo Dave Gee No Gods/No Masters)

Blind Eye (https://www.facebook.com/p/Blind-Eye-Band-100064955622264/) are a hardcore punk band from Nottingham who've been around since 2019 and who feature members of acts such as Heresy, Bloody Head, Pitchshifter, Wolves Of Greece, Army Of Flying Robots etc. They line up thus; Steve Charlesworth – Drums, Matt Grundy – Bass, Andrew Morgan – Guitar & Anmarie Spaziano – Vocals and are influenced by the likes of The Comes, Jerrys Kids, Aus-Rotten and Chaos UK.

They've recently released a second album (their debut being 2022's Decomposed) which is titled Mistrust Your Nation and after listening to it I can't help thinking why aren't these guys getting more attention? It's a raging beast of a release that has the lot... Pounding riffs, great lyrics and a powder keg of a vocalist in Anmarie Spaziano.

I highly recommend you check the album out https://blindeye-notts.bandcamp.com/album/mistrust-your-nation

There's a video for the song Blitz Can which you should watch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1VxblZdgo4) but the track I'm highlighting today is called Darts Cards Bingo...

The Circulators - Pointless Game

San Francisco's The Circulators (https://www.instagram.com/thecirculators/) return to Just Some Punk Songs today with one of the songs on their new ep.

They've been on here a couple of times previously with tracks from their Self Titled debut ep and their Insufficient Fun album.

https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2023/01/the-circulators-it-wont-be-me.html

https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2024/11/the-circulators-wired-over-you.html

I highly recommend you check out their previous releases as it looks as though the band is no more. The new ep appears to be a farewell from them. 3 tracks (2 originals and a cover of Teengenerate's My GTO) it's titled Pointless Game and is available via Total Punk Records.

The Clinch - Journeyman

The Clinch (https://www.facebook.com/theclinchofficial) are a street punk/oi band from Melbourne who featured on here back in 2020 with the title track to their Basecamp album (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2020/03/the-clinch-basecamp.html).

I wrote at the time "The album contains 11 catchy, anthemic singalongs. Gritty vocals stand out nice and clear over instruments that are played with gusto by a band that have clearly honed their skills supporting the likes of Cockney Rejects, SLF, The Exploited etc..." and going of the evidence of their new single, it's a skill that hasn't deserted them.

The single is the second one to be taken from their upcoming album, Times Up (the first was called Melbourne (https://open.spotify.com/album/5A0uaLAvV2QJqAnvpMtSiY).

The album will be released in July by Sunny Bastards.

Accompanied with a rather nice boxing video, this is Journeyman...

Plastic Meat - Burn With Me

Whilst checking the Just Some Punk Songs database I noticed I'd played Madrid band Plastic Meat on the show back in October 2025 (I must have featured something from their debut self titled ep though it slips my mind what).

They're back with a new 6 song ep titled Losing It which was released on their Bandcamp page in March as a name your price download https://plasticmeat.bandcamp.com/album/losing-it

Now it's getting a 7" vinyl release via FOLC Records

 https://folcrecords.bandcamp.com/album/folc308-plastic-meat-losing-it

Nicking info from the Bandcamp page; they formed in 2024, their songs are short and direct and the influences mentioned include Ron Asheton (Stooges), The Chats, Split System, X-Ray Spex & Amyl and the Sniffers.

This is the opening track, it's called Burn With Me...

MK Ultras - My Time

Cleveland, Ohio garage punk heroes MK Ultras (https://www.facebook.com/mkultrasofficial) are back with a new ep.

I featured them on here last year when I highlighted one of the best songs from 2025  https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2025/04/mk-ultras-pray-for-us.html

The new ep features 4 more great tracks and it's available on limited edition 7" vinyl (250 copies so don't hang around) from Goodbye Boozy Records.

https://goodbyeboozydigital.bandcamp.com/album/mk-ultras

https://mkultras.bandcamp.com/album/goodbye-boozy-e-p

This track is a doozy, it's called My Time...
