CLOBBER - Council Estate of Mind

London punks CLOBBER (https://www.facebook.com/Clobber.uk) the band with "a belly full of venom and fists clenched tightly" first featured on here following the release of their debut single Karens, Gammons, Hippies and Conspiracies (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2022/01/clobber-karens-gammons-hippies.html).

They've continued to impress since then with a string of hard hitting releases so their new single (and the announcement that they're playing both this year's Manchester Punk Festival & the Rebellion Festival) is a great excuse to get them on again.

The single's released by Venn Records of London (https://vennrecords.bandcamp.com) and you can also find it here : https://clobberuk.bandcamp.com/track/council-estate-of-mind

It's a fat free working class anthem that dovetailed nicely when I played it on this week's Just Some Punk Songs show with a track from the new album by fellow Londoners The Chisel. It's called Council Estate Of Mind...

Clobber - Karens, Gammons, Hippies & Conspiracies

Buckle up… it’s clobbering time!

Can I recommend you all have a listen to this week's Just Some Punk Songs show (today at 8pm UK time https://www.facebook.com/events/1093166834816214/). 24 songs by 24 bands, 14 who have never featured before. If you're looking for a show that concentrates on new punk music you'll struggle to find better.

One of those bands making their debut are Clobber (https://www.facebook.com/Clobber.uk). They're a hardcore punk quartet from London who've just released a debut ep titled Tribal Rites of the New Friday Night. It's a rip roaring introduction to a very promising outfit who I'm sure you'll be mightily impressed with.

It's opinionated; it asks what's wrong with the world today. It then provides an answer, the world's gone mental. As the band say, "The world around us has Irreversibly, devastatingly and unrecognisably changed, we have endured so much from a party who show no consideration for the working class and left us to die while they partied. They gutted the hallowed halls where we cut loose and spent our youth for fancy towers and railroads and they continue to laugh at us from the top of the hill and we won’t take this lying down. We too have changed as people, we’re stronger, more unified and together we can conquer anything, these are the Tribal Rites of the New Friday Night."

The ep barrels along at a breakneck pace, it's heavy but doesn't forget to anchor that hard hitting sound with a modicum of melody. If I was going to make a comparison I'd maybe say Clobber (on this release) are in the same ball park as Crown Court. You can get it here ;   https://clobberuk.bandcamp.com/album/tribal-rites-of-the-new-friday-night

"This song is the culmination of watching the news all over the world in 2020. It’s about how many people stood by and watched the world suffer and somehow made it all about them. How people would conjure ghost stories and excuses to excuse their deep seeded prejudices while people literally took to their streets in a desperate attempt to stand up for basic human rights."  It's called Karens, Gammons, Hippies & Conspiracies...

What is wrong with the world today? All you silly mugs got to have your say, your inability to see another view, its only fucking gospel if it comes from you.

Karens, gammons, hippies and conspiracies, statues, masks, blaming 5G and PC.

Painting a target on your head, convinced a minority wants you dead, it ain't about you, it never was, you just want a word in just because...

Karens, gammons, hippies and conspiracies, statues, masks, blaming 5G and PC.

Clobber are a fast paced 3 piece UK punk band from Redditch, Worcestershire. They line up with Chris (guitar/vocals), Ben (bass/vocals) and Lozz (drums). Their debut single Britun First featured on here last year (http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/clobber-britun-first.html).

A couple of months ago they released a video for the song All My Best Bands Are Has Beens and now they're back with the first song off their upcoming ep which is due out later this month.

In support of the ep they've a gig with another excellent UK punk band, Gnarwolves, on 6th July in Worcester. You can get details on Facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/Clobberdobber/

Clobber - Britun First

Today I'm bigging up a new band that I've seen getting a bit of well deserved exposure, hopefully you guys will share their music around too.

Clobber are a fast paced 3 piece punk rock/pop punk band from Redditch, which is around 15 miles south of Birmingham (England). They recently released a single Britun First / Bière Spéciale  and it's been picking up some rave reviews. You can check it out (name your price) here : https://clobberdobber.bandcamp.com/releases

Aside from the single, 2016 has also seen them undergo line up changes and has had them supporting the likes of  Leftover Crack and Kimberly Steaks. Future plans include a new record which is pencilled in for either the end of this year or early 2017.

An attack on the far right group Britain First, this is an impressive calling card called Britun First......
