The Briefs - Hospital Elevator

The Briefs (https://www.facebook.com/TheBriefs) are no strangers to Just Some Punk Songs with a string of featured songs over the last decade and a bit. As well as that, frontman Steve E Nix has recently featured with new band Taste Testors (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2025/02/taste-testors-she-didnt-tell-me-she-was.html).

Today he's back on Briefs duty as they've just released a new single. As the band are celebrating their 25th anniversary it seems fitting the single is produced by Kurt Bloch (The Fastbacks guitarist produced the very first Briefs 7" Poor And Weird back in 1999). It's the sound of a band getting back to their roots.

To promote the single, the band will be touring (things kick off with a number of English shows)...

It's available on 7" via TKO Records on blue or red vinyl (https://tkorecords.bigcartel.com/) and you can check out both songs on Spotify :  https://open.spotify.com/album/3pz57gYdWF2KiNM2SOdUjB

This song sees Nix commenting "There’s nicer hospital visits and then there’s seedier ones, like where there’s cops and people withdrawing and sketchy guys in handcuffs and all that.  And you’re trying to find your girlfriend and it’s 4am and you’re in an elevator.  The song is along those lines. With a cool beat.” It's called Hospital Elevator...
