Helle (https://www.facebook.com/helleband) are a West Yorkshire feminist punk quartet with bite. They've been around for a few years but for some reason, despite supposedly keeping my eyes and ears on the new punk music scene, they seem to have escaped my attention.
Happily that sad state of affairs has been rectified with the release of their latest single (https://open.spotify.com/album/3EJClZewY0jkY31Z4XRVNz).
The band say the single is about girls owning their own sexuality, or as they put it "girls having a cheeky wank."
It's a powerhouse of a song, one of my favourites of the year so far. I'll certainly be catching up on their back catalogue. It's called Pornography...
