  Hopefully you'll have heard me playing tracks from their excellent new ep A Modern Job on the Just Some Punk Songs show. It's available on vinyl via Nice Swan Records and it's a must not miss release  https://sprintsmusic.bandcamp.com/album/a-modern-job

  Maybe you're going to see the band (Karla Chubb (Lead Singer and songwriter), Colm O’Reilly (Guitar), Jack Callan (Drums), Sam McCann (Bass Guitar)) on their upcoming tour of the UK and Ireland. 

  If you are going to watch them, there's a fair chance they may play a cover of a recent song that made a big impression on them. Is there anyone out there that's not stumbled across Wet Leg during the last 12 months? Probably not. They're the Isle Of Wight newbies that have appeared out of nowhere to become flavour of the month. Their debut album is on the horizon so expect to hear plenty more soon (the backlash is probably already gathering momentum as I type this!).

  Wet Leg's break out song has been covered live by Sprints, it's a version that doesn't deviate too much from the original though it is a bit angrier and a bit more scuffed up. It's a nice treat from one of the scene's best new bands.

Bart And The Brats - Livin´ In The Future

  Some of you may remember that earlier this year I featured a song by Bart And The Brats (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2021/03/bart-and-brats-try-harder.html). It was taken from their debut album Dogged (https://bartandthebrats.bandcamp.com/releases). They return today with a new single. 

   I say they but maybe I should say he as Bart And The Brats are (is?) the solo project featuring Bart De Vraantijk who you may know from bands such as Wild Zeros, Teenage Hearts, The Janitors, The Pneumonias, Skeptics and more. Based in La Rochelle, France, Bart has been brought up on a diet of late 70's punk and no doubt has plenty of Killed By Death and Bloodstains comps in his collection.

 

  The new record is an ep featuring 3 tracks with sharp guitars, loud bass, pounding drums and snotty vocals. It's titled Livin' In The Future and it's out next week on Spanish label Take The City Records  https://takethecityrecords.bandcamp.com/album/livin-in-the-future

  All 3 songs are winners but it's the title track that's on Youtube so that's what you're getting. A prime cut of budget rock, this is Livin' In The Future...
