Heavy Metal - Use Your Skull

Today's update features "The Neitzschean Supermen Of Dustbin Rock...."

Heavy Metal are a 3 piece from Berlin who are tagged as being a metal band on Bandcamp but happily are much more interesting than that. They released their debut LP in 2016, followed it up less than a year later with LP2 and after presumably deciding 10 months between releases was far too long only waited 7 months to unleash LP3. It came out earlier this month on golden 12" vinyl on Harbinger Sound and you can find all 3 albums here :  https://heavymetal.bandcamp.com/

I've heard them described as "Germs or Zounds covering Devo on speed." Comparisons have also been made with Crass and Sleaford Mods, personally I'm getting reminded of Mcluskey. They produce chaotic punk music complete with chords, riffs, samples and all manner of quirky odds and ends. On their last album they covered Rod Stewart's Do You Think I'm Sexy, this time around they put their own unique spin on Cameo's Word Up. It's punk Jim, but not as we know it. This is one of those bands I'd direct people towards when they start moaning that punk isn't interesting or exciting anymore. Granted it's not your typical vocals, guitar, bass, drums, verse, chorus, verse anthemic punk sound but it's all the better for that.

This is called Use Your Skull.....
