Eat Dirt. - Pigs
I've been putting together a playlist for next Tuesday's Just Some Punk Songs show (https://www.facebook.com/events/1972702459679478/ you're all invited) and one of the tracks I stumbled across was by a band from the east of England called Eat Dirt. Checking out their Facebook page I notice they like, and indeed recently supported Pears, which is unsurprising as I was thinking they reminded me a bit of them. Their Facebook profile also describes them as being angry at stuff and being interested in shouting and loud guitars. That seems to sum them up pretty accurately. Fortunately they're pretty catchy too.
They formed in 2016 and feature "members of other bands." Who those members are seems to be a mystery. In May they released their debut self titled ep, it contains 4 tracks and it's available here : https://eatdirtpunk.com/
The songs are short, powerful and pissed off, this one's about people like Teresa May who are trying to fuck us over and it's called Pigs.....
Back when tigers used to smoke,
All This knavery had become a joke Too many chefs are spoiling the broth Too many pigs feeding from the troth There has to be a better way what direction should we take The Left and right are becoming blurred So lets rise up and let's be heard Well live on your feet, don't die on your knees, It's the next battle that will define me, And before too many chefs are spoiling the broth And too many pigs are feeding from the troth There has to be a better way what direction should we take The Left and right are becoming blurred So lets rise up and let's be heard Too many cooks, are killing all the pigs Too many cooks, are killing all the pigs
