Thee Headcoatees - The KKK Took My Baby Away

Thee Headcoatees are back with their first new music this century. It's already been given a sparkling review by Ged Babey over at Louder Than War (so normally I wouldn't bother posting anything on here but I'll make an exception today) so go read what he thinks about it as he's spot on  https://louderthanwar.com/thee-headcoatees-man-trap-album-review/

Titled Man-Trap, it's a 14 track garage rock delight. It's available via Damaged Goods Records on vinyl, cd and digital download https://damagedgoodsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/man-trap

There's also a couple of  new eps to check out

Millions of bands have covered The Ramones, not many as successfully as this. The KKK Took My Baby Away...

Quitters - You (Yeah)

Quitters are a garage rock trio from Detroit, Michigan whose line up features Krystian Quint (Guitar/Vocals), Tristan Presley (Bass) & Brandon Fecteau (Drums).

They've just released a couple of demo tracks. You can find them here :   https://quittersquittersquitters.bandcamp.com/album/demo

They're not reinventing the wheel but I thought the first of those demo tracks was really rather good in a scuffed up kinda way. Take advantage of the free download. It's called You (Yeah)...

Thee Headcoats - And The Band Played Johnny B. Goode

Garage rock legend Billy Childish is showing no signs of slowing down. Whenever I visit the Damaged Goods site (https://damagedgoods.co.uk/) there's usually a new release upcoming from one of the great man's many projects.

A couple of years ago I featured a song by Thee Headcoats (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2023/02/thee-headcoats-cops-and-robbers-alt.html) and they're back today with the opening track of a new album titled The Sherlock Holmes Rhythm ’n’ Beat Vernacular.

There's been many words written about Billy Childish down the years so I think all I need to add is, go listen to the song. It's called And The Band Played Johnny B. Goode...

Linda From Work - Wasting All My Time

Today's song is more garage rock/alt rock than punk but it's well worth your attention. It's by a band from Seattle called Linda From Work (https://www.facebook.com/lindafromwork) who formed in 2018 and have a line up of Hillary Tusick (vocals/guitar), Sam Nowak (drums), Elliott Gregory (guitar) & Shayla Riday (bass).

They've been pitched as recommended if you like bands such as Veruca Salt, The Donnas & Yeah Yeah Yeahs and they've just released a new album titled The Night Is Short. There's a video for the lead single, Jealous, which is a fair representation of what the album offers up. You can check it out here :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNt9O1lOggc

The album itself is available on cd and digital download :  https://lindafromwork.bandcamp.com/album/the-night-is-short

10 tracks of melodic rock music with powerful vocals and driving guitars, if I had to pick a song to highlight (and that's exactly what I have to do on this blog), I'd go with this. It's called Wasting All My Time...

Basic Bitches - How Come None Of You Ever Want To Hang Anymore?

Basic Bitches are over in the UK later this month so it seems like a good time to post their new video and give a plug to those dates :

They formed in New York in 2014 and feature a line up of Naomi Scott (guitar/vocals), Lysa Opter (bass) and Nick D'Amore (drums). They've previously released the City Slackers album, the My Body, My Choice single and there was a track from the album (the snappily titled Mass Shootings And Donald Trump) on the Band Cramps Volume 1 comp. You can find them, along with the new song that I'm posting today, on Bandcamp :  https://basicbitches.bandcamp.com

You can get more info here : https://www.facebook.com/basicbtches/

The perils of growing up and watching all your mates drift away as they get involved in relationships, this is called How Come None Of You Ever Want To Hang Anymore?

Boys with girlfriends,
Girls with boyfriends,
Boys with boyfriends,
Girls with girlfriends,
How come none of you ever want to hang anymore?

I don't wanna interrupt your domestic bliss
But do you ever think about all the things you miss
By hanging out with just one person every night with no dispersal
I don't want to break you up but I just want to have some fun

Laflamme - Get The Love On

LaFlamme are an English garage rock quartet from Surrey who featured on here a year ago with debut single Broken Hearted Sons (http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/laflamme-broken-hearted-sons.html) and who return today with the title track from their new ep Get The Love On. You can snap it up here : https://laflammeband.bandcamp.com/album/get-the-love-on

Influenced by the likes of The Ramones, AC/DC, Lou Reed etc they've been together since 2013 and recently played a sold out show at London's 100 Club in support of 90's legends Cud. Future dates include sharing a stage with The Vibrators so check out their gigs on Facebook      https://www.facebook.com/laflammeband/

From that 100 Club gig, this is the rifftastic Get The Love On....
