The Wheelz - Politicians

Snotty Tulsa trio The Wheelz (https://www.facebook.com/TheWheelz) are back with a new 7". It's their third appearance on here (following their cover of The Partisan's So Neat and I'm So Tired Of Living In The USA). The latter of those songs featured on their fantastic Top 10 Super Hits! album which you hopefully all know and love https://wandarecords.bandcamp.com/album/top-10-super-hits

The new ep is titled Twenty / Twenty and if you're quick there's a few copies left at Boulevard Trash  https://boulevardtrashpunk.com/shop/ols/products/the-wheelz-twenty-twenty-ep If you're in the UK then it's available via No Front Teeth Records https://www.nofrontteeth.co.uk/ whilst for European fans you can get it on cassette here https://tapeordie.bigcartel.com/product/tod-84-the-wheelz-20-20-ep

With influences including the likes of '77 era punk, Toy Dolls, The Briefs etc we're served up a fun four tracks of irreverent old school punk including a spirited cover of Splodgenessabounds/Rolf Harris' Two Little Boys. Elsewhere we get Washed Away, a catchy singalong with a Clash style guitar riff, the short and punchy Generation Turncoat and a lead track (see below) which anthemically rails against those in positions of power who just want control to serve their own ends.

   This is called Politicians...

So it's that time of the week when I start putting together a playlist of more of the best new releases to play on the next Just Some Punk Songs show (Tuesday at 8pm UK time). One band that will definitely feature (with a different song to the one you'll find below) are Tulsa, Oklahoma, '77 influenced punks The Wheelz. They previously appeared on here back in 2014 with a rip roaring cover of The Partisans' So Neat (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-wheelz-so-neat.html) and they return today with a track from their excellent new album.

The album is titled Top 10 Super Hits! and it lives up to it's hyperbolic title. If you're a fan of bands like Blanks 77 and The Briefs you'll love this. It's available  on various edition vinyl from Wanda Records :  https://mailorder.wandarecords.de/

You can check it out now on Bandcamp :  https://wandarecords.bandcamp.com/album/top-10-super-hits

Get more info here : https://www.facebook.com/TheWheelz/

The album's fun, it's good old fashioned punk rock and you should all check it out. Catchy tunes, big singalong choruses, snotty vocals....what's not to like. This is called I'm So Tired Of Living In The USA...
