The Kreutzer Sonata - No Empathy

Chicago hardcore punk outfit The Kreutzer Sonata blasted their way onto this blog early last year with a raging beast of a song called P.W.M. (Punks With Morals) http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/the-kreutzer-sonata-pwm-punks-with.html. Now they're back with a song from their brand new Fight Songs ep (out now on Nothing New Records) and I'm glad to report that they're still the same bile spitting, hard hitting behemoth of a band they've always been.

Influenced by the likes of Leftover Crack, A Global Threat, Black Flag, Minor Threat etc, it's no surprise that their lyrics are as biting as their sonic assaults (sample lyric "I don't care if you're rich, I don't care if you're poor cause we're all equal in our lives and in the end I just care if you have virtue and respect your fellow man."). That lyric is from the lead track on the new ep, It's Getting Worse, and you can find it here : http://thekreutzersonata.bandcamp.com/.

They've also released this new video for the track No Empathy.......

Steaming in the madness of the social unrest
Blinded views, vacant threats
Always got a bone to pick, you're on the attack
If you want empathy then give some back

There's so much hate
Do you really know what you stand for?

Left or right, unite and win
Work together, understand
It will be uncomfortable
No good change isn't

I see a broken society, the future makes me cringe
Everyday I'm fucking sick
Nuclear families at nuclear war
With subcultures that mirror their scorn

You hate
Have empathy
Fate
Or empathy

Dissent in the air and evil on the streets
In the back of our mind no one agrees
But you don't have to agree to make things work
Just respect we all come from different worlds on this earth

The Kreutzer Sonata - P.W.M. (Punks With Morals)

"Punk rock with a heavy heart. Destroying all our dead ends, always fighting through the entropy."

At least that's how their bandcamp bio describes The Kreutzer Sonata. Personally I'd just say that they're kicking up a racket whilst shouting out about what's going on around them, but they're rather more poetic than I am so I'll stick with their version.

This is the bit where I usually write a fairly dull intro before posting a killer song, on this occasion however I'm indebted to the band's bassist, Kat Schrapler, who's wrote a few introductory lines :

"The Kreutzer Sonata is a hardcore punk outfit hailing from Chicago, Illinois, whose sound has been described as unapologetic in nature; similar to bands like Leftover Crack, A Global Threat with a little bit of Aus Rotten thrown in the mix. The band was formed in 2011 and has been going strong ever since. On February 12, 2015 they released a full length by the name of "Austere" and will be touring the East Coast of the U.S. in summer 2015."

Back to me now, just long enough to mention that the band is filled out by Karl on drums/vocals and Adam, guitar/vocals. They not only bring the noise, they also write some damn good lyrics. Head over to their bandcamp where you can name your price for all their releases (including Austere) : http://thekreutzersonata.bandcamp.com/

This one's called P.W.M. (Punks With Morals).....

The same motherfucker that's supposed to be a punk
is talking like a homophobe when he gets drunk
hypocrisy is a fatal disease
Keep your hate south of I-80
and all these motherfuckers that are supposed to be a scene
are stealing from each other and its fucking sickening

These days all the morals have been taken away
are we blind or can anyone explain this to me
can we try maybe glorifying something that's right
like unity in this fucked up punk scene
take a dive if you're feeling alright
maybe no ones gonna save you tonight
when they're down pick em up dust em off lets go
its all for one so fuck your ego

All these bands in the punk community
that show up right before their set then leave
Hypocrisy is a fatal disease
dont pretend you're part of the scene
and the same motherfuckers spiking up their hair
are criticizing others for the shit they wanna wear
hypocrisy is a fatal disease
what is there to gain from these divisions
we
separate our means

These days all the morals have been taken away
are we blind or can anyone explain this to me
can we try maybe glorifying something that's right
like unity in this fucked up punk scene
take a dive if you're feeling alright
maybe no ones gonna save you tonight
when they're down pick em up dust em off lets go
its one for all so fuck your ego
