Red Light Rebels - SOS

It's been 3 years since we were last treated to music from Cheltenham punks Red Light Rebels (https://www.facebook.com/Redlightrebelspunx) and even longer (6 years) since they last featured on this blog (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2017/07/red-light-rebels-barrel-of-gun.html) but they make a triumphant return today with a track from their upcoming ep A Death To This Town.

With guitarist/vocalist Tom Saunders also being a member of 4ft Fingers (a band much beloved of the P-Rock TV generation and who's new material has been a long time coming but they plan to be recording later this year) it's no surprise there's certain similarities with that band. It's up tempo, catchy as hell punk tuneage all the way and on this new song we get some excellent female co vocals (I apologise for not knowing the name of the female singer but she's bloody good).

The ep will be out on 18th August via London label Disconnect Disconnect Records.

   This is SOS...

Red Light Rebels - Barrel Of A Gun

Red Light Rebels made it into the Just Some Punk Songs end of year chart for 2016 with a song from their Another Round ep (this was the track that made the cut  http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/red-light-rebels-kryptonite.html). Little wonder then that the release of a debut album, Joyride, should generate plenty of excitement round these parts. You can check it out, along with their previous eps, here :  https://redlightrebelsx.bandcamp.com

A 4 piece from Cheltenham, the line up features Ryan Jean Simmonds (guitar/vocals), Tom Saunders (guitar/vocals), Sam Cook (bass) and Tommy G (drums). The album features 8 rocking, melodic punk tunes bursting at the seams with catchy choruses that'll have you singing along.

Below you'll see the video for the album's opening track. It features a guest appearence from Rob Crebbin of fellow Cheltenham band 4ft Fingers and is called Barrel Of A Gun.....

Red Light Rebels - Kryptonite

A hard hitting melodic punk 4 piece from Cheltenham, Red Light Rebels have a couple of eps on Bandcamp. There's 2014's Rebels ep plus there's the brand new Another Round ep. You can check them out here : https://redlightrebelsx.bandcamp.com/album/another-round.

Despite being a relatively new band, the members, Ryan Simmonds (guitar/vocals), Tom Saunders (guitar/vocals), Sam (bass) and Simon (drums) have previously featured in the likes of Skintight Jaguars, Riot And The Popshots, The Hook Line Riot and one of my favourite British bands, 4ft Fingers.

There's a video out for their song Dominos that you should track down but I'm posting another song from the new ep. The chorus to this has been stuck in my head for the last couple of weeks, it's called Kryptonite.....
