Neon Bone - Surrender to you

   

  Are you in the mood for something catchy? Maybe along the lines of the infectious bubblegum pop tunes that were mainstays of the singles chart back in the 60's? How about a collision of The Archies and The Ramones, sugar sweet harmonies and super catchy power pop-punk?  Then this one's for you... 

  No strangers to Just Some Punk Songs (first featuring back in 2014 when they were a solo project), Neon Bone (https://www.facebook.com/neonbone/) are the Munster band that formed in 2010 and have grown into one of the catchiest outfits around. They've an impressive back catalogue of releases that'll brighten up the gloomiest of days (check it out... https://neonbone.bandcamp.com/ ).

  They recently returned with their 4th full length (their 3rd on Monster Zero). It's titled Make It Last and unsurprisingly it's a joy. Plenty of riffs, even more hooks and every song is an earworm. You'll find yourself singing along to the likes of I've Got A Friend, I'm Coming Home and Ricky Nelson cover It's Up To You. As I mentioned earlier, it's a sugar rush but it's not sweet enough to leave you feeling sick, musically there's more than enough punch and grit to get the punk kids jumping around.

Neon Bone - Waiting

 

  It's been nearly 4 years since German pop punks Neon Bone featured on this blog (http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/neon-bone-youre-alive.html) but they're still around and still releasing some of the catchiest tunes going. Starting up in 2010 in Munster as a one man band and taking their name from a M.O.T.O. song they've expanded their line up and honed their Queers/Parasites/Ramones style of punk rock over the years : https://neonbone.bandcamp.com/

  Now they're back with a new album, their 3rd. It's titled That Dog Won't Hunt and it's out on Monster Zero Records in association with Mom's Basement Records. If you're a fan of 50's & 60's inspired Bubblegum Punk then this is for you. All the songs are sub 3 minute ear worms that'll get you tapping your foot and singing along, there's even a cool version of Skeeter Davis' 1962 classic The End Of The World. They're the kind of band that would go down a storm if they were the new resident band at Arnold's Drive-In on Happy Days. Neon Bone - You're Alive

  Staying in Germany for today's update, but moving to the picturesque university city of Munster. Lars Hannemann used to be in various bands, including Galaxor, Regina and Absorbor, he also ran the d.i.y. label Kill All Human Records. Whilst these projects were mainly old school and hardcore punk, Lars decided to branch out and produce something more akin to the Lookout Records 1990's pop punk style. Influenced by his love of The Ramones, Weezer, The Descendents. Parasites and The Queers, 2010 saw him start a "just-for-fun-one-man-project" which he named Neon Bone (he took the name from a 1988 release by M.O.T.O.).
