Satanic Togas - Tits On The Beach

Well, I've a couple of things to say today.

Firstly, it seems as though peaches aren't the only things you might happen upon whilst strolling on the beaches.

And secondly, WOW! What a great compilation of cover versions GTRRRC 3 is. The previous comp (https://geeteeband.bandcamp.com/album/g-t-r-r-c-ii) knocked it out of the park with 20 killer lo-fi reinterpretations of classic (and not so classic) songs. This latest instalment takes things to the next level with a mammoth 46 songs. The tracklist is pretty damn awesome. Haven't you always wanted to hear Buck Biloxi covering Joy Division? How about Nick Normal doing Poison Idea? Aussie rock giants C.O.F.F.I.N. blitzing their way through Funkadelic's Super Stupid? The songs are scrappy as hell and all the better for it, the cast list is a who's who of the lo-fi/garage punk scene, the album is essential listening. What's more, you can find it as a name your price download here :  https://geeteeband.bandcamp.com/album/g-t-r-r-c-iii

If you want the double 12" vinyl (slime green or white) then check out either Legless Records (https://leglessrecords.bandcamp.com/album/gtrrc3) or if you're in the US or Europe/UK keep an eye on Under The Gun and Erste Theke Tontraeger as they'll be getting it in a couple of months.

It seems a bit lazy choosing the opening track to highlight but boy, it's a brilliantly trashy take on a song I was previously unfamiliar with. Originally recorded by early 80's Canadian band Rude Norton (who weren't around for long but who's line up included members of The Subhumans, The Pointed Sticks and D.O.A.), this version is by Satanic Togas (https://www.facebook.com/thesatanictogas666). It's titled Tits On The Beach...

Satanic Togas - Terminator 2

You may remember that last month I posted a song by Sydney lo-fi garage punks Satanic Togas (https://www.facebook.com/thesatanictogas666/), it was taken from their Underworld Cassingle Club ep and I mentioned that there was an album on the way.

That album is now with us and it's every bit as good as expected. It's titled X-Ray Vision, boasts a dozen cool as fuck trashy budget rockers and it's available on several of the best labels and distros around;  Warttmann Inc.(Aus), Goodbye Boozy (Europe), Slovenly Recordings, Total Punk/Floridas Dying & Goner Records (USA). The vinyl version of the album looks to be available in a few weeks and seems pretty limited so get in early if you want one. If you want the digital version then go here (if cassettes are your thing there's 33 available on puke pink) :  https://warttmanninc.bandcamp.com/album/x-ray-vision-lp

Ploughing a similar furrow to other lo-fi heroes such as Buck Biloxi and Kool & The Gang Bangers, this is very impressive. You don't need a big budget, lots of flashy equipment and a name producer to make great music. You just need to go for it and hopefully you can produce something as good as X-Ray Vision.

The album is packed with "hits" but the song I'm featuring today is the closing track. It's about the last days of man, the machines are marching on and maybe we need a muscle bound Austrian to save us. It's called Terminator 2...

Satanic Togas - Killin' Cops

It seems as though Kool & The Gang Bangers may have some competition in the race to be crowned the best trashy budget punk band of 2020. All hail Sydney denizens of the underworld, The Satanic Togas. (https://www.facebook.com/thesatanictogas666/)

They've been putting out an impressive catalogue of shitty songs for shitty people for the last 6 years and their latest toxic emission has just dropped in the form of the Underworld Cassingle Club ep. It's a rather wonderful short sharp blast of offensive lo fi goodness and it suggests that the band's upcoming new album on Goodbye Boozy Records will be something very special indeed.

The album is due next month and will be titled X Ray Vision. It's just one of a number of exciting looking releases from the label so keep an eye on their Bandcamp page (and whilst you're at it, check out their recent 96-98 Mixtape) https://goodbyeboozydigital.bandcamp.com/

Back to today's song; you can get the ep as a name your price download :   https://satanictogas.bandcamp.com/album/underworld-cassingle-club-8-8-20

This is the lead track, It's called Killin' Cops...
