Abrazos - Dying In Denial

A marriage made in heaven today as south coast hardcore punks Abrazos (https://www.facebook.com/abrazospunk/) team up with Scottish anarcho-punk duo Brain Anguish (https://www.facebook.com/brainanguish) to release a new 7 track split ep titled We're Still Angry All The Time.

Featuring 5 tracks by Abrazos and a couple by Brain Anguish, it's getting a vinyl release and you can snap up a copy here : https://abrazospunk.bandcamp.com/album/were-still-angry-all-the-time-abrazos-brain-anguish-split-ep

You may have already heard the Brain Anguish songs as I've featured them previously :  https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2020/07/brain-anguish-fluent-in-misogyny-demo.html

Abrazos, who feature members of bands such as Hack Job, Armoured Flu Unit, The Officials, The Shorts etc, have also appeared a couple of times so it's easier to share the links than write their info again https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2017/04/abrazos-history-repeats.html  https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2020/03/abrazos-tradition.html

Still angry all the time is a good summation of the ep and Abrazos kick off proceedings by asking why are you not angry too. They also deal with like minded people coming together with a common bond to create music but also go onto mention that not everyone in the punk scene practices what they preach. They finish their section of the ep off with a powerful look at animal rights (or the lack of). There's a song about hunting and one about keeping animals caged for vivisection. This is the latter, it's called Dying In Denial...

Abrazos - Tradition

Hailing from the South Coast of England, anarcho hardcore punks Abrazos recently returned with a new album titled Angry All The Time. It not only features 8 tracks which were recorded in January at The Fishtank in Portsmouth but there's also a bonus 16 tracks recorded live at their Portsmouth gig (where they appeared alongside Rotten Foxes, Pizzatramp and Rash Decision) from Saturday 7th September 2019. It's been released on a USB stick and comes with an impressive 12 page zine of artwork & lyrics. The first run is limited to 60 and the cost is £3 plus postage. If you want one then get in touch with them : https://www.facebook.com/abrazospunk/

The band features members of Hack Job, Armoured Flu Unit and The Shorts; Nath Haywire (guitar), Tony Suspect (drums/vocals) and Alan Marshall (bass/vocals) and their name means Hugs in Spanish. You can find their earlier material streaming here : https://abrazospunk.bandcamp.com/

Of the new tracks on the album, subjects include hunting, the DIY community, more inclusivity in the punk scene, anger at dumbing down, sweat shops, animal cruelty, snowflakes (and those that use the term as a form of abuse) and the worrying number of suicides linked to benefit claims (a song inspired by a frustrated post put on Facebook by Darren Bourne asking a band to write a song about how Universal Credit is shit!). They're angry, short blasts of furious energy and I liked them a lot.

This is the opening track, it's a fuck you to chinless wonders who hunt in packs and it's called Tradition...
