Grail Guard - People Just Like You

Grail Guard are a politically aware hardcore punk band from Coventry & Nuneaton and have already featured on here a couple of times.

They've a new album coming out on March 6th. Titled Still No Future, it'll be released by TNS Records. From what I've heard so far I'm pretty confident that it'll be their best release yet.

The first single from the album is a ripper of which the band comment...

" Seems strange how many politicians are happy to blame immigrants for the problems in society, without recognising the they are children of immigrants who have fled war, famine and disease. Easy to dream up harsh policies when you’ve continually dehumanised the very people who look like and sound like your own parents.
Feels like politicians should be there to serve the people, to have our interests front and centre rather than their own self-serving priorities of wealth and status.
When the likes of Suella Braverman urge us to look elsewhere, to see “them” as the enemy and the cause of our misery, it’s a deliberate distraction.
It's not people like them who are the problem Suella, it's 'People Just Like You' "

It's called People Just Like You...

Your views on immigrants and asylum seekers are deplorable like you
An ethnostate of fascism is what you like to do
Money greases palms, we know that much is true
The only people that benefit are people just like you

It's people just like you! (Like you!)
It's people just like you! (Like you!)
It's people just like you! (Like you!)
It's people just like you! (Like you!)

If your parents come here now, you'd try and deport them too
An ethnostate of fascism is what you like to do
Money greases palms, we know that much is true
The only people that benefit are people just like you

It's people just like you! (Like you!)

Grail Guard - Our Streets

For those of you that weren't paying attention in July, I'll recap that Grail Guard (https://www.facebook.com/GrailGuardBand) are a new Coventry/Nuneaton quintet who featured on here with a song about Elon Musk called Die On Mars (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2023/07/grail-guard-die-on-mars.html).

It's only a couple of months or so on from then but I welcome the chance to bang on again about how good they are in the hope if you've not come across them yet you check them out.

They've just released a new ep, it's titled Our Streets and it features the aforementioned Die On Mars along with a couple of equally impressive new songs. You can find it as a name your price download here : https://grailguard.bandcamp.com/album/our-streets

This is the title track, it's a topical release which comes out at a time when Home Secretary Suella Braverman echoes the sentiments of her fellow conservative Enoch Powell. They're not their streets, they're Our Streets...

Grail Guard - Die On Mars

Grail Guard (https://www.facebook.com/GrailGuardBand) are a hardcore punk quintet with members from Coventry and Nuneaton who I think have only been around for a year or so but who have released a couple of powerful singles "covering topics of heritage to the current chaos that is our country’s political and financial state."

They've just re emerged with a new track which they say is a brutal fast paced onslaught from the get go,  written in retaliation to the ongoing behaviour Elon Musk shows to his employees. They comment that the visceral gang vocals echo the sentiments of the 1000s of employees laid off from their jobs...

It's a fast paced punk stomper that adds melody to brute force and asks if mankind really needs a saviour in the form of a snake oil salesman. It's an infectious, sing along tune and you can find it as a name your price download here : https://grailguard.bandcamp.com/track/die-on-mars
