Cut Piece - GUGI

   

   I'M GIVING UP ON GIVING IN...

  Cut Piece are from Portland, Oregon and feature vocalist Laura from Petite (a band who featured on here a few years back https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2017/12/petite-torches.html) alongside Mary (drums), Samantha (bass) & Zach (guitar).   Today sees the release of a debut album titled Your Own Good and it's every bit as impressive as I was expecting. It's available on vinyl and digital from Total Punk Records with the label enthusing thus; "Songs about the fucked-up state of our world, the overwhelming apathy of the population at large, self-empowerment, and the creeps who lurk the neighborhood.   I'm going to highlight the closing track as it has the same passion and intensity as the preceding 10 songs but the addition of some brass instrumentation sees it standing out from the crowd. It reminds me a little of Downtown Boys. It's called GUGI... 

Cut Piece - Accept Defeat (Don't Sabotage Me)

  As usual, it's an hour's worth of awesome newly released punk music and this week it includes the song I'm posting below.

  Cut Piece are new to me, they're a quartet from Portland, Oregon featuring a line up of Mary (drums), Samantha (bass), Zach (guitar) & Laura (vocals). 

  They released an energetic debut single in July (https://cutpiecepdx.bandcamp.com/album/cut-piece) and now they return with the opening track from a new Self Titled ep which will be released on 7 inch vinyl and digital download on 22nd September by Dirt Cult Records. Featuring Don't Become The Enemy from the debut single plus 3 new songs, it's an invigorating blast of in your face punk rock.
