The Functional Citizens - Galaxies

Yeah I know, I'm predictable as hell. I get sent a link to a new pop punk album and I make a beeline straight to the sci-fi themed song. And hell yeah, it's great. Mind you the rest of the album is of the same high standard so choosing a different song to play on the next Just Some Punk Songs show is both easy (as there's plenty of suitable candidates) and hard (as there's plenty of suitable candidates!). Anyway, enough waffle...

The Functional Citizens are the old school, Ramones influenced pop punk 3 piece from Kalamazoo, Michigan who's agenda is to put the fun in functional. With a line up featuring Ryan Falor (vocals/guitar), Rob Smith (bass/backup vocals) and Garrett Myland (drums) they appear to have slimmed down in personnel since the last time they featured on here (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2016/11/the-functional-citizens-stalker.html) but there's been no dip in quality.

The new album came out yesterday on Smoking Cat Records, it's titled Game Night and you can check it out here :  https://thefunctionalcitizens.bandcamp.com/album/game-night

You can get more details, including gig news, here : https://www.facebook.com/thefunctionalcitizens/

There's 16 songs on the album covering topics such as gaming, girls and drinking etc. It's fun, it's catchy and it deserves your attention. This one's about nagvigating the universe and it's called Galaxies...

The Functional Citizens - Stalker

The Functional Citizens are from Kalamazoo, Michigan and formed in October 2014. Fuelled by a love of old school pop punkers such as The Ramones, Lillingtons, TBR, NOFX and with a dash of The Misfits' style of  horror & sci fi, they released a mission statement in the shape of last year's debut ep, Shut Up. They've just followed it up with an excellent debut album, out now on Smoking Cat Records and titled Inhuman Resources. You can check out those releases, plus a live set recorded earlier this year at The Well Basement : http://thefunctionalcitizens.bandcamp.com/

The line up of the band is Ryan Falor (vocals), Shyo Hartsell (guitar), Rob Smith (bass) and Garrett Myland (drums). They play catchy, upbeat pop punk and I'd recommend you check them out pronto.

The song below will have you looking over your shoulder, he's watching you. Some day he'll catch up to you. This is Stalker.......
