I was wondering where I'd heard The Waterheads before, a fair bit of brain racking went on. And then I realised, they were one of the picks of the Killed By Meth #4 comp which came out on It's Trash Records back in 2019 (https://itstrashrecords.bandcamp.com/track/the-waterheads-dont-vote). They released a debut ep the year before that on Painters Tapes records (https://painterstapes.bandcamp.com/album/the-waterheads-ep) but I think I may have missed that.
I've not missed the follow up though. It's also on Painters Tapes, as the label's name suggests, it's available as a cassette (though as I write this only 9 copies remain) as well as a name your price digital download : https://painterstapes.bandcamp.com/album/ep-2-2
I don't know anything about the band so I guess I better tell you a little about the music. It's scrappy as fuck but highly enjoyable budget punk which starts with a weird instrumental cover of Barry White's I Love You Just The Way You Are before exploding into frenetic life with enthusiastically trashy hardcore tracks about brain eating killer botz, essential workers and fracking. It's the sound of a snotty teenager having a tantrum whilst the band bangs out 80's hardcore and a neighbour joins in on his thrift store synth. It's all very cool.
This is the final track, it's a cover of this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noHJ3Kjie7o) by The Nunfuckers and it's called Spoiled Brats...
