Top 10 Songs Chosen By Rudiger Tietz (The Barbecuties)

Following on from yesterday's update from The Barbecuties, vocalist/guitarist Rudiger Tietz got in touch so I quickly pounced and asked him to choose a list of his 10 favourite songs. He very kindly came back almost straight away with "probably not my real 10 faves of all time, but 10 songs that i REALLY REALLY love." Rudiger lives in Mannheim, Germany but if his selection is any indication, his musical influences are very much American and British surf, rock n roll and pop punk, influences that can be clearly heard in his band  : http://thebarbecuties.bandcamp.com/ .

Thanks for the list Rudiger :

 1) The Beach Boys - Hushabye

 2) The Beatles - Octopus' Garden

 3) The Blue Hawaiians - Lonely Star

 4) Zatopeks - Picture Postcards

 5) Masked Intruder - Heart Shaped Guitar

 6) The Dandy Warhols - I Am Sound

 7) The Mr T Experience - Alternative Is Here To Stay

 8) The Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl

 9) Sonic Avenues - I Want You Now

10) Undertones - Teenage Kicks

This is Hushabye by The Beach Boys......

The Barbecuties - I Wanna Be On Mutant Pop

"I wanna be on mutant pop cos Lookout Records sucks....."

Today's song is by a band who hail from Germany and have been "sentimentally retarded" since 2001. Influences include The Ramones, The Queers, Mr T Experience and The Beach Boys so you won't be surprised as to how they sound, old school bubblegum pop punknroll  is very much the order of the day. Comprising of Hot Rod (vocals/guitar), Erguz (vocals/bass), Old Nick (guitar/vocals) and Han Solo (drums/vocals), they've self released 4 albums, which you can check out here :

A new album, The Barbecuties Go Down With Style, is recorded should be released soon, in the meantime, here's one from their back catalogue, it's called I Wanna Be On Mutant Pop......
