The Anti-Bodies - The Losers' Club

Earlier this year The Anti-Bodies released a beautiful song inspired by a classic episode of the Twilight Zone (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2019/02/the-anti-bodies-ninety-years-without.html), today they return with another song that's more of a return to their bouncy, upbeat pop punk roots but is no less impressive. The band are from Buffalo, New York and they line up with Izzy Deadly (Vocals/Guitar), Ernie Farnshnard (Guitar), Doug White (Bass) and Orval (Drums). They play punk rock songs about life, love, the undead, beings from outerspace and secret laboratory experiments gone wrong and they're great fun. You can get more info on them here :   https://www.facebook.com/TheAntiBodies/

Halloween's almost upon us so what better way to celebrate than with a song about the 7 misfits from Derry, Maine who fought everyone's favourite evil clown, Pennywise. Inspired by Stephen King's 1986 classic novel, It (and the subsequent movies), it's a catchy tune with creepy lyrics about an entity that lives down the storm drain and reemerges every 27 years to prey upon the young. This is The Losers' Club...

We are The Losers Club
Hailing from our hometown Derry, Main
We're gonna put an end to that clown in the storm drain
We are The Losers Club
We've come to conquer our fears
We hope IT won't be back in 27 years

Preys on the young it seems
A demonic entity
The neighbors heard George scream
Left in the gutter to bleed
Horribly...

Remember The Barrens, our bikes and The House On Neibolt
The Rock Fight, The Deadlights and the ancient Ritual
But now we've reached adulthood and IT called us back home
We took a blood oath so c'mon gang lets go!

Be True, Be Brave, Stand
All The Rest Is Darkness...

The Anti-Bodies - Ninety Years Without Slumbering

The Anti-Bodies are from Buffalo and have band members with names such as Jez A.Disaster (vocals), Izzy Deadly (guitar/backing vocals), Horace Chalem (bass) and Count Alucard (drums).  If, like me, you love pop punk music with a sci fi and horror theme you'll very probably love The Anti-Bodies. Their back catalogue is crammed with song titles such as Curse Of The Full Moon, E.T. Girl, Earth Vs. Mars, Elm Street, The Mist etc... Some songs have male vocals, some female. It's all frighteningly good fun and you should stop reading now and go check out their Bandcamp page :   https://theanti-bodies1.bandcamp.com/

Did you notice how cool the artwork is? Even before listening to the music you can tell it's going to be great when that much love has gone into packaging it.

There's a new song that's just been released, it's inspired by a classic episode of The Twilight Zone in which a retired watchmaker fears that when his grandfather's clock stops ticking his own life will end. You can watch that episode here https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5mygj9

The songs a ballad, it reminded me a little of early Weezer mixed up with a touch of Dan Vapid. My first listen, I thought it was ok but subsequent plays have firmly lodged it in my head. It's a dreamy song that compliments the episode perfectly. Damn, I love it! It's called Ninety Years Without Slumbering...

lyrics

Ninety years without slumbering
The pendulum swings is it true?
That my days are numbered
When the clock stops, I am through

I know I've been obsessed dear
The inevitable haunts me so
No man can prolong his allotted hours
I'll soon enter into the great unknown

It's been a good life, now it's time to go...

Now I choose what to believe
Time was created by god, not men
The truth is, I don't wanna leave
When that clock died, I was born again

Ah- tick of time.
