Soakie are a fast, energetic hardcore punk band with members from Melbourne, Philadelphia and New York. I came across them when stumbling upon their Dangerous Doge demo (https://soakie.bandcamp.com/releases) a couple of years ago (if I remember correctly I played Power Tool on the show). Now several of the songs from that demo (along with several new ones) make up a lean, pissed off sounding 7 track clear green vinyl mini lp that'll be available on La Vida Es Un Mus on February 10th. The line up of the band is Summer (vocals), Nellie (bass), Austin (drums) and Chumz (guitar). Summer's vocals are described as part Nick Blinko (Rudimentary Peni) and part Vi Subversa (Poison Girls). She spits venom. The production maybe slightly more polished on this first "proper" release but the intensity levels are just as high. There's a couple of songs streaming, opener Nuke The Frats is a fast paced new tune with a pretty self explanatory title whilst Boys On Stage is one of the tracks that was on the demo. It's a call for sex positivity, being in a band is an option for all, it's not just boy's fun!
