The Homewreckers - Nervous Rex

In the third and final instalment in what's turned out to be a Mooster Records special, today I bring you a track from the new album by Brooklyn queer-core band The Homewreckers.

Formed in 2008 as an outlet to "write emotionally-distraught pop-punk songs about queer problems and manic depression" the band have survived several line up changes and now feature a line up of Cristy Road (vocals/guitar), J (bass/vocals), Jamie Nieves (drums/vocals) and Ana MeiLi (guitar/vocals). Their influences are diverse, ranging from Broadway musicals to Bikini Kill via a meandering route that takes in the likes of The Undertones, Crimpshine, Cyndi Lauper, Wanda Jackson, The Muffs and Operation Ivy.

In 2009 they released the Daydreaming About Assholes ep and this was followed in 2013 by Manic Recession which was a split ep with City Mouse and which features an early version of the song I'm posting today. You can check out those releases here :  https://thehomewreckers.bandcamp.com/

Their new album, their debut,  is called I,Statements and is a hard rocking pop punk delight distinguished by Cristy's unique vocals, no one else sounds quite like these guys. Check it out here : https://moosterrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-homewreckers-i-statements

    This is Nervous Rex.......
