Boasting a line up of Lucas (Guitar/Vocals), Jon (Bass/Vocals) & Oliver (Drums), they have that pleasing knack of making the churning out of catchy as hell melodic punk tunes seem an easy task.

Their 2nd album is on the way, it'll be titled Closer To Death and you can check out a couple of teaser tracks here : https://unicorndogs.bandcamp.com/album/closer-to-closer-to-death

Proving my catchy as hell assertion correct, this is Sad Adult...

Do you feel like you’re running out of time? A hollow shell with nothing left inside and it makes you want to scream (ahhhhhh!!!) Things get more and more complex Fewer simple answers fewer good prospects It's hard to sleep and even harder to dream But I don’t wanna be a sad adult Pining for my glory days I don’t wanna be a sad adult All depressed and filled with rage Ba ba ba bada bop ba In case you’re wondering, we’re singing About growing old, about giving out You gotta understand what I’m saying You can't sell when no one’s buying And I don’t wanna be a sad adult Pining for my glory days I don’t wanna be a sad adult All depressed and filled with rage I don’t wanna be a sad adult clinging to the past, refusing to change I don’t wanna be a sad adult Closed off, stuck in my ways Ba ba ba bada bop ba Well, I guess this is midlife

Unicorn Dogs - Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)

Unicorn Dogs (https://www.facebook.com/unicorn.dogs.music) are from Baltimore and though they've not been around for long they're proving to be pretty prolific. I featured a track from their debut album, Typical Junk Behaviour, last year https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2024/07/unicorn-dogs-they-hate-change.html.

I commented "It's pop punk sensibilities with balls. Gritty and melodic, a great combination." And now they're back with more of the same in the form of a new ep titled Inauguration.

Do you like short, snappy songs or maybe you prefer something a little longer (maybe The Decline by NOFX is your idea of punk rock heaven)? Well Unicorn Dogs cater for all. There's 6 individual songs on the ep but there's also a special Inauguration: Pomp and Circumstance version, which presents the songs as a single listening experience with additional content not on the individual tracks. And if that isn't enough, there's also a couple of Bandcamp only bonus tracks.

You can find it here : https://unicorndogs.bandcamp.com/album/inauguration

This track is a cover of this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL1nDdWBfcc which was released in 2009 by The Raveonettes on their album In And Out Of Control. It's called Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)...

Boys who rape should all be destroyed
Boys who rape should all be destroyed

Three to one girl
How can you win
One horrid night
You hope that it's a bad dream

They rip you to shreds
Make you feel useless
You'll never forget
Those fuckers stay in your head

Boys who rape should all be destroyed
Boys who rape should all be destroyed

They rip you to shreds
Make you feel useless
You'll never forget
Those fuckers stay in your head

Boys who rape should all be destroyed
Boys who rape should all be destroyed

Boys who rape should all be destroyed
Boys who rape should all be destroyed

Unicorn Dogs - They Hate Change

Unicorn Dogs (https://www.facebook.com/unicorn.dogs.music) are a fairly new band from Baltimore, Maryland who've just released a debut album titled Age Typical Junk Behaviour. It's 14 songs in 23 minutes, these guys don't fuck about. Their Bandcamp page throws out the names of some of their influences; Dillinger Four, The Copyrights, Dear Landlord, Hospital Job, Houseboat, Charlie Brown Gets a Valentine, The Riverdales and The Steinways all get a mention, as does Mutant Pop Records. It's pop punk sensibilities with balls. Gritty and melodic, a great combination.

The album's available on cd and digital download :                  https://unicorndogs.bandcamp.com/album/age-typical-junk-behavior

Lyrically they opine on mind numbing office jobs, being thin skinned and social withdrawal. They also sing about being unwilling to adapt, this song's called They Hate Change...

They hate change, A fixed point of view They hate change, Stick to what they knew They hate change, No forward only back They hate change, No peace just attack Not interested in learning a new way They're only interested in trying to stay... unchanged They hate change and they’re in the way Only dead things don't change, you are a dead thing You hate change, get the fuck out of the goddamn way
