Taker - Big Step

Taker are the oi!/punk/rock'n'roll outfit from Buffalo, New York that I featured last March when I posted a song from their Self Titled ep https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2025/03/taker-work.html

Today, they return with one of the highlights from their new album, Sons And Daughters. The album's available on vinyl via Contra Records https://www.contra-net.com/en/taker-sons-and-daughters-12-lp-pre-order.html and as a name your price digital download on Bandcamp

Here's what they say about it...

"Melodic Punk + Oi! Choruses? Yes.

Eric from VIOLENT WAY has gathered a few comrades to bring us a boardwalk blend of RAMONES, THE BODIES, TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET and STIFF LITTLE FINGERS."

If you like your oi music to have a bucketful of hooks then you'll love it. There's even a guest appearance on one of the songs by Jenny Woo. It's essential listening!

This is the song that went down a storm on last night's Just Some Punk Songs show, it's called Big Step...

Taker - Work

A quick shout out today for a very cool ep that I missed at the end of last year.

Taker are an "oi/punk/rock’n’roll band from Buffalo, NY featuring members of Violent Way, Corvo, Healer, They Live, Big Dog, Big School, Candy and more!"  They're tagged as skinhead rock n roll and oi but I'm pretty sure they've a few Ramones albums in their collections.

Last December saw the release of a 4 song self titled ep. The cassette version is sold out but you can snap up the digital as a name your price download : https://taker-oi.bandcamp.com/album/taker-ep

I'm late to the party but I'm hoping there'll be more music from them soon.

  This track's called Work...
