Shrinkwrap Killers - I Think The Sirens Are Coming For Me

The Shrinkwrap Killers (aka Greg Wilkinson from Brainoil and Earhammer Studios) have already featured twice on here this year with the splendidly titled (and very catchy) Stolen Electrics To Shove Up Your Ass and It's Not A Dead Body Inside This Bag. Today sees the posting of another song as there's now a new album and unsurprisingly it also has a splendid title (and is full of very catchy tracks!). It's called Feral Rats Have Become Our Only Pets and it's available on vinyl from Iron Lung Records ("150 copies on translucent green with black splatter and 350 on black 150gr vinyl housed in a 24pt jacket with lyric sheet (essential!) and download card included.")  http://ironlungrecords.bigcartel.com/product/shrinkwrap-killers-feral-rats-have-become-our-only-pets-lp

On a recent Just Some Punk Songs show I played the title track and someone commented "They're basically putting out the same song every time but what a brilliant song it is!" and there was a grain of truth to that statement as the "band" have a signature synth punk sound (I think I previously described it as budget bubblegum and compared them to The Spits).

There's plenty to enjoy on the album, highlights include This Building Sucks For A Zombie Apocalypse, Hive Robotics At The Human Zoo and Caught Pissing On The Vatican (I'll be playing it on The Just Some Punk Songs show later today  https://www.facebook.com/events/1321719428176850) but basically if you like one track you'll like 'em all.

There's a video to accompany this song so it's the one I'll be posting today. It's called I Think The Sirens Are Coming For Me...

Shrinkwrap Killers - It's Not A Dead Body Inside This Bag

Shrinkwrap Killers are from Oakland and are the latest outlet to channel the talents of Earhammer Studio boss and Brainoil frontman Greg Wilkinson. They featured on here back in March with one of the year's best songs : https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2020/03/shrinkwrap-killers-stolen-electronics.html

As well as that track, March also saw the release on Rockstar Records of the vinyl version (the cassette version came out in 2019) of a debut album titled Parents + FBI = Cahoots! You can grab it here :  https://punkorder.com/items/music/lp/shrinkwrap-killers-parents-_-fbi-_-cahoots

Today I'm posting the lead track from a split 7" with Santa Cruz band Cosmic Reef Temple. There's 300 copies on black and 200 on semi transparent blue and it's available from Wave Guardian Records https://shrinkwrapkillers.bandcamp.com/album/split-w-cosmic-reef-temple

A humorous warning to morgue attendants everywhere, this is a synth heavy post punk delight that will probably remind you of The Spits. It's called It's Not A Dead Body Inside This Bag...

It’s Not a dead body inside this bag.
He just blacked out last night. Unzip the bag and get this fool out of here. This morgue doesn’t process live humans. Please check for a pulse next time. It’s not a dead body inside this bag.

Shrinkwrap Killers - Stolen Electronics to Shove Up Your Ass

I've been meaning to post today's song for a a few weeks now but it kept getting pushed back to "next in line" but now it's worked it's way to top of the pile and if you've not yet heard it I think you'll be impressed.

Shrinkwrap Killers are Greg Wilkinson from doom metal outfit Brainoil and Earhammer Studios.  They're (He's) from Oakland, California and had a cassette album out a year ago titled Parents + FBI = Cahoots. I've had a listen and it's pretty decent though I've got to say that the new track which you'll find below blows it out of the water. If you're a fan of catchy garage punk and in particular The Spits you'll want to check out the Stolen Electronics to Shove Up Your Ass EP. It's 2 tracks on a 7" single, it's #3 of 5 in the Systemic Surgery series each hand numbered and limited to 200 and you can also get it digitally : https://shrinkwrapkillers.bandcamp.com/album/stolen-electronics-to-shove-up-your-ass-ep

It's very catchy and quite humorous (unless maybe you're a looter). It's a heady 90 second brew of budget bubblegum (or it would be if that was a genre). It's gang violence done by looney tunes. It's bloody marvellous. Check it out...

Hey There,
We're gonna beat your ass!
So tired of talking, now it's time to swing.
Hey There,
We're gonna beat your ass!
You've Looted one too many things this time.

Breaking windows and stealing cars.
Stolen electronics we're gonna shove up your ass.

Hey There,
We're gonna beat your ass!
So tired of talking, now it's time to swing.
Hey There,
We're gonna beat your ass!
You've Looted one too many things this time.
