The Wasters - Happy
For yesterday's update I posted a song by a band from Liverpool who've been together for around a decade and who have a new album on Antipop Records so as I like to mix things up on here, today you're getting a song by a band from Liverpool who've been together for around a decade who've a new album on Antipop Records! Whilst Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies have managed 4 studio albums in that time, The Wasters have just got round to releasing their (Self Titled) debut. I think it's fair to say it's been worth the wait.
There's been numerous line up changes down the years, they've even broken up, but at the moment the band is Gary Jardine (vocals), Kraig Shaw (drums), Joey "Juice" Smith (guitar) and Pete "Lunt" Goulden (bass). Their sound is mid tempo, 70's influenced punk rock and they seem to draw frequent comparisons to The Sex Pistols. Despite the lengthy wait, the album is only 8 songs long but this leaves the listener wanting more and is a case of a band favouring quality over quantity. It's available on cd and to download here : https://antipoprecords.greedbag.com/buy/the-wasters/
Snotty vocals, rumbling guitar and a catchy tune, all the ingredients needed to make a punk Happy....
