Special Interest - Don't Kiss Me in Public
Special Interest are a funky punk band from New Orleans who featured on here a couple of years ago with a track from their impressive Spiraling album (https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2018/04/special-interest-young-gifted-black-in.html).
They formed in 2015 as a duo, Alli Logout and Maria Elena "playing guitars and power tools over the beat of a 70’s Univox drum machine" before being joined by Ruth Mascelli on electronics and Nathan Cassiani (who you may know from Patsy and Mystic Inane) on bass. This month sees them coming over to the UK to play a bunch of shows :
05 Mar LONDON Static Shock Fest SOLD OUT
09 Mar BRIGHTON Pipeline
10 Mar MANCHESTER Yes
11 Mar GLASGOW Nice n Sleazy
12 Mar BRISTOL Exchange
13 Mar CARDIFF Tiny Rebel
14 Mar LONDON Peckham Audio
They've also released a song as a taster for an upcoming new album (the album will be available via Night School Records and Thrilling Living). It's punk that you can bust some moves out on the dancefloor to. It's bass and synth led anarcho glam. It's fresh and vital.
