Today sees a 3rd Just Some Punk Songs appearance for Sheffield hardcore noise merchants Rat Cage (https://www.facebook.com/ratcagehc). Firstly, in 2020, I called them short, fast and noisy as fuck https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2020/12/rat-cage-hypocrite-city.html and then last year I featured a song that finished the year high up in the JSPS 2023 chart https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2023/05/rat-cage-change-from-fiver.html
Now they return with a highlight from a split ep with Swedish rippers Gefyr. The ep features 3 tracks each with neither band taking any prisoners. It's available on vinyl. EU press, Black/Green cover, Flyktsoda Records, Flyktr036#70: flyktsodazine.bandcamp.com and US press, Black/Baby Blue cover, Bunker Punks, BPDT-013: bunkerpunks.bandcamp.com
UK copies coming soon : https://ratcage.bandcamp.com/album/split-7-w-gefyr
This Rat Cage song deserves multiple listens, it bursts out of the starting gate and then if anything gets even faster and more furious as it races towards it's climax. Now if only I could make out all the words (oh well, an excuse to play it over and over...) It's called Thatcher's Back...
