Bring the Drones - Ignorance Paradise

  Bring The Drones feature a nucleus of drummer Charlie Claesson (formerly of Anti-Cimex and Driller Killer, currently also a member of Wolfhour) and guitarist/bassist Ted Fransson (ex Gamla Pengar, currently, Strikt Struktur). To help achieve their overall pummelling sound they draw on the talents of numerous musicians, in the case of new album Ignorance Paradise those musicians are vocalist Denis Boardman (Doom), vocalist James Domestic (The Domestics), bassist Inge Johansson (Against Me!, Refused, The(International) Noise Conspiracy), Frida Andersson (Vicious Irene) and Daniel Kjolsrud (Berzerk Bastards).

  Unsurprisingly, given the logistics of featuring members from different locations who also have other band committments, it's taken 3 years for Ignorance Paradise to come to fruition but it's finally out on May 5th via Kibou Records (UK) and Phobia Records (Czech). There's an impressive 18 tracks that range from raging Swedish d-beat to some slower, more restrained but no less engaging moments.   I must confess that I'm not always the biggest fan of pounding hardcore as I like my music to have a tune and to my ears that's not always the case but with Bring The Drones I don't have a problem. Despite being heavy, I can pick out more than enough hooks to grab hold of. When this is the case then I often play this kind of music on repeat and as with Bad Breeding and The Domestics from last year usually find a place for it in my end of year, best of list.

  The song you'll find below is the title track from the album and it's complimented by the first of 3 promo videos. With a theme that reminds me somewhat of The Domestics' classic Spit On Your Flag, this is a scathing song about swallowing bullshit patriotic propaganda rather than looking around at what's actually out there in the world. Don't blindly follow, THINK. This is Ignorance Paradise....
