Hazard - Police Oppression
Thanks to that bastion of good taste Ashley Colman for pointing me in the direction of today's song. It's not the first time I've discovered great music because of him and I'm sure it won't be the last.
Hazard have been together since 2010 and are from Luton, England. According to their Facebook profile, they're currently unsigned but after a long break from touring they're now back on the road with a number of gigs scheduled, culminating in an appearance at the Rebellion Festival in August.
A 3 piece featuring Conor Hussey (guitar/vocals), Josh Murphy (bass/vocals) and Joe Smith (drums/vocals), their releases thus far include a single called Machine, a self titled ep and their 2014 debut album Nothing Changes. You can check them out here : http://hazardbanduk.bandcamp.com/.
Influenced by the likes of The Clash, Rancid, Johnny Thunders, Nirvana and a host of others but adding their own fresh spin to the classic punk sound, this is a song off the album called Police Oppression......
Police Oppression, cracking down on kids again.
Hey man, what did I do? To be honest I have no clue.
I'm out now, I need to go. Gotta get ready for that rock show.
Hey man, who I am? I'm just your number one fan.
I don't wanna walk at the streets at night.
Can't be asked to wait around and fight my way back home.
Dancing away to my favorite song, haven't seen my friends in so long.
They're out there smoking weed, I refrained as it made my eyes bleed.
The police just walk right in, looked like they'd hit the jackpot win.
They round up everyone, now breaking rocks in the red hot sun.
