Drones are a Ramones influenced band from Minneapolis who are not to be confused with the UK band of the same name. This lot are a 3 piece featuring Tane (bass/vocals), Parker (drums/vocals) and Paul (guitar/vocals).

After hearing a few really cool songs by Boilermaker and deciding I needed to share one on here I was struggling a bit to find any info on the band other than they lined up Max Turnbull (vocals), Phil Coates (guitar), Mike Robson (drums) and Steve Addison (bass) and that they've only just played their first gig. Instead of filling in this intro with a bit of empty waffle I instead asked MaxTurnbull if he'd supply a few facts on his band and I'll lazily just copy and paste his reply below.....
"2 of us were in Last Rough Cause (Phil and myself), the drummer is in Gimp Fist and Thankless Graft and was also in Last Crusade and it's Ste the bass players first band. Ste asked me to jam with him a couple of years back so I played drums and sang to his guitar. We were going through a few covers of Sham, Rejects and a couple of Agnostic Front songs.
Last Rough Cause stopped playing so we asked Phil if he would come down if Ste moved onto bass so we started practicing a few new tunes I'd already written ages before. I was still drumming at this point but felt I'd be better suited to singing as I was frazzled after doing both for a couple of hours practice so I was glad when Mike offered his services coz he was always a harder hitter than me anyway. Apparently I'd asked him when I'd had way too much to drink at a Gimp Fist gig at the Forum in Darlington? I really can't recall this alleged fact? Either way we all started playing together and very slowly and steadily, we got our act together.
After quite a long time we had a decent set length of about 8 songs as well as a couple of covers. After trying to get an opinion on 4 songs we recorded from a few labels, we sort of came to realise that no label is going to touch a band that hasn't gigged so a date was lined up and we played our first show last night (26/11/16) at The Railway Tavern in Darlo. We really loved it so hopefully the crowd liked it too. They seemed to enjoy it and gave good feedback so we'll see what happens? We've all agreed we won't be doing a lot of gigs though so 4 or 5 a year will be enough for me.
Only Mike is from outside Darlington, living in Bishop Auckland and he is the only lad who is a construction man rather than the rest of us who are welders (hence the band's name)."

The new ep is called Check It Twice, it features updated versions of 5 songs Mike wrote between 2012-2014 and as far as Christmas records go, they're actually very good. Future plans for the band include new music early in 2017 "We already have our first 2-3 eps planned for 2017, along with a 12 inch coming from Something To Do Records."

No Matter are a pop punk band from Belfast who seem to be causing a bit of a stir with their debut full length album, Ill Advised. Listing their influences as NOFX, Screeching Weasel, Bad Religion, Dillinger Four, Ramones and The Alkaline Trio, their sound is reminiscent of all your favourite 90's Fat Wreck bands. They feature both male and female vocals and are fast paced, catchy and fun.
The line up features Dan Kennedy (guitar/vocals), Jamie "Numskull" Wilson (drums), Caitlin "Catface" Palmer (bass/vocals) and Jarlath Cowan (guitar/vocals). Their first release was a demo in 2011, this was followed up a year later with the Fidge ep whilst 2014 saw the release of the 7 track Drop The Act mini album. A busy touring schedule (including gigs playing alongside the likes of NOFX, Descendents, Millencolin, Anti Flag, Runnin' Riot, 999, D.O.A. etc...) has seen them hone their skills and now the new album out now on Umlaut Records) has seen them take things to a different level. Forming in 2004 and hailing from the town of Halden in Norway, Lucky Malice are a passionate feminist punk trio who's line up features Karine Braekke (drums/vocals), Linda Haug (guitar/vocals) and Hanna Fauske (bass/vocals). Their releases include an ep (Young And Breathless (2008)), a couple of splits (one with Gottemia in 2010 and this years split with Danger!man) and 2 albums (Homme Fatale (2012), Lucky Malice (2013)).

Dead Ending are a hard hitting hardcore punk supergroup from Chicago who's line up includes Vic Bondi (Articles Of Faith), Derek Grant (Alkaline Trio), Jeff Dean (The Bomb, All Eyes West) and recent recruit Nate Gluck (Ensign, Vision, Strength 691) who replaces Rise Against bassist Joe Principe.
Their debut ep was released by Alternative Tentacles in 2012 and the same label released a 2nd ep the following year. 2014 saw Bridge Nine Records release ep3 which featured guest appearences by Jake Burns (SLF) and Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun, The Bomb) and which can be checked out here : https://bridge9.bandcamp.com/album/de-iii

When I'm searching for music to post in this blog, I don't aim to find mainly UK and US bands but I'm possibly guilty of mainly being drawn to songs from those countries. I do try and search further afield and it's extremely satisfying when I come across something from places where I haven't shared music from before. I'm pretty sure I've not previously brought you anything from Brazil and I'm really happy that the first song to be posted from that country is absolutely wonderful.
Unfortunately I know pretty much nothing about 3D but from what I can glean, they're a 4 piece all female band from Porto Alegre (which is the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul). They got together back in the 80's couldn't play their instruments but released a 1988 split tape with The Cobaias which was much loved and now after a remaster by the excellent Daniel Husayn, the 11 songs by 3D have been rereleased on a 7" through Nada Nada Discos.

RF7 are a hardcore punk band from California who've been around since 1979. They've released an impressive number of albums including 2009's Hatred On The Rise lp. Asuka And The Bum Servants certainly have a name that stands out from the crowd. Fortunately they also have a sound that stands out too. They're a female fronted punk band from Japan and they're pretty damn good.
Featuring guitarist Nori from Tom And Boot Boys (a band that previously featured here : http://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/tom-and-boot-boys-piss-off-mtv-punks.html), plus Asuka (vocals), Ricky (bass) and Shinichi (drums), they're fast, loud and fun. Last year they released a cassette and a self titled ep and this year has seen more of the same (the Battle Fever cassette and the Punk President ep), all were on Pogo 77 Records.
Jack The Lad are a band from the East Anglia area who started life playing covers of classic oi and punk tunes (available for birthdays, engagements, weddings, funerals and barmitzvahs! contact them at Jackthelad2424@live.com). Which is all well and good but possibly not interesting enough to get them posted on here. What is far more interesting is that fuelled by a love of Cock Sparrer, Blitz, Ruts, Cockney Rejects etc, they've started writing their own material and last December they released a debut single which featured a couple of very decent self penned tracks. Fingers crossed, they're hoping 2017 will see the release of an album.
They've been together since 2013 though have previously featured in a number of other bands. Their single was released by Rebellion Records and the songs are You Can Have It and Get Up. The A side borrows one of punk's most famous riffs and is an oi stomper that could have easily been released 30 years ago. The flip side is equally as good and the cover features an iconic photo of one of Britain's greatest actors, Sir Michael Caine.

F.O.D. are a band from Lier, Belgium known for playing catchy, anthemic melodic punk songs. They formed in 2008, originally as a Green Day covers band. They take their name from a song on Green Day's Dookie album, it's short for Fuck Off And Die.
Their frst release was 2011's Dance To This ep and it was followed by 2013's Ontario album. Their upward momentum continued with the Something More single and album number 2, Tricks Of The Trade. You can check out those releases here : http://fodmusic.bandcamp.com/

Candy And The Stripes (CATS for short) are a female fronted pop punk band from Berlin who's line up features Debby Candy (vocals), Marcel Candy (guitar), Jorg Candy (drums) and Benni Candy (bass). I first heard them on the massive Tales From The Pop Punk World Vol 3 compilation which was released name your price by Ramone To The Bone Records (https://rttb-records.bandcamp.com/album/va-tales-from-the-pop-punk-world-vol-3). The song was a demo version of the one you'll find below but only hinted at how good their debut release would be.

It's been less than 4 months since Foster City, California one man band Grim Deeds appeared on this blog with a song from his new album If The Shoe Fits. In many cases that would be it for a couple or more years until new material was recorded and released. Deeds doesn't work to that kind of a lackadaisical timetable though, in those few short months he's already peppered his Bandcamp page with a bakers dozen of new tracks, mostly recorded in his wife's parent's garage and now many of which have surfaced on yet another brand new album. It's a year since the tragic passing of Teenage Bottlerocket drummer Brandon Carlisle. He was found unresponsive by his roommate on 3rd November 2015 and despite the prayers of family, friends and fans his death was announced on Nov 7th. The outpourings of grief were testament to the high esteem in which he was held by fans worldwide, he's greatly missed but his music will live on forever.
There's been many tribute cover versions of Teenage Bottlerocket songs recorded over the last year. There'll even be what is promising to be an awesome compilation of Teenage Bottlerocket covers released soon by Ramone To The Bone Records (I highly recommend you watch out for it). Possibly the best of the covers I've heard so far though was released yesterday (7th Nov) and you'll find the video for it below.

Hard Case are from Belfast and formed in 2008/9 with members previously having played with a number of bands including The Violent Fuckwits, The Troubles, The Spastic Dockters, Runnin' Riot and Gods, High Speed Steel. The line up features Billy Riot (vocals), Mike Kerr (lead guitar/backing vocals), Barzo Steel (bass/backing vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Sprouley (drums). You'll now also find several of them in my new favourite band, Takers & Users whilst Billy Riot is in psychobilly outfit Madhouse.
Their first release was the 2009 Ain't No Hiding ep. This was followed in 2011 by the limited edition single, I'm Here For The Ginge and debut album Not Right In The Head. The gin loving 4 piece features Andrew O'Neill (guitars/vocals), Gerhard "Andy" Heintz (vocals/additional instruments), Mark Burrows (guitar/vocals) and Jez Miller (drums). They've been together since 2008 and have released 3 albums which can be checked out here : https://blamedfornothing.bandcamp.com/. The most recent of those albums, Not Your Typical Victorians, is shortly going to be rereleased on vinyl along with a bonus cd of demos and a fanzine. A super limited version will feature a bonus 7".
To coincide with their current UK tour, they've released a spectacularly creepy video for one of the highlights from the last album. A slow burner with a great pay off, this is This House Is Not Haunted.......
Those of you who remember the feature I did a while ago on Braindead Records will hopefully be pleased to discover that they've just unleashed their latest release. It's by a new band from St Louis, Missouri called Murder Cow which features a few people who may be familiar to you if you've been following the label. The line up comprises Neil Diamond Phillips (bass), Jerry Mander (drums), Kenny Joslen (guitar) and Todd Parker (guitar/vocals).
Titled Your Vote Doesn't Count, the new ep is 6 tracks of breakneck political hardcore punk that is dedicated to the memory of comedian George Carlin. Handily timed to coincide with the US presidential election, it's a scathing critique of a range of interconnected targets including the voting system, mass media, government and big business. They're from Poole, Dorset and currently line up with Ross Sutcliffe (vocals), Shane Creech (rhythm guitar), James Gould (lead guitar), Richie Blandford (bass) and Lewis Willoughby (drums).
After playing an hour's worth of UK punk from 2016 on the Just Some Punk Songs show this week (http://mixlr.com/mick-fletcher/showreel/just-some-punk-songs-uk-2016/), I've had people recommending me bands to include in a volume 2. The Mistakes are one of the bands that have been brought to my attention so whilst I know very little about them at the moment I'll be delving deeper in due course. What I do know about them is that they're supporting The U.K. Subs on Fri 11th November at The Polygon in Southampton and at Mr Kyps in Poole on the following day, I'm sure they'll be playing songs from their brand new 5 track ep which is out now on rhythm guitarist Shane Creech's Never Be Quiet Records.

A big thanks to Guy Trelford today. When I started the New Punk Rock Music group on Facebook it was intended as an outlet for new bands to post their music and a side benefit for myself was that I could use the ones I enjoyed most to post on here when I was running low on ideas. Guy's been posting lots of great songs lately, including the one I'm sharing today.
The Fialky are a '77 style punk band from Prague, Czech Republic, who formed in 2000 and who's line up currently features Marian "Kecup" Kudlea (vocals/guitar), Ota Cernohous (bass), Tom Calda (drums) and Marcel "Green" Janecek (vocals/guitar). The English translation of their name is The Violets.
They've put out several releases, their latest album was 2015's Co Krok, To 15 Let Punkrock (an extended version of which is being rereleased). You can check them out here :
They're currently filling the gap between albums by releasing a couple of cover songs, one will be out in early December whilst the first of them, a version of the Sex Pistols classic, has just seen the light of day. This is Feeling......
