The Jukebox Romantics - Living with Sin

The Jukebox Romantics hail from New York and have been together since 2008. The current line up features Mike Terry (vocals/guitar), Bobby Edge (bass) and Mike Normann (drums).

Their debut, self titled, album came out on Altercation Records in 2009, Altercation also released the follow up, 2011's A Lion And A Guy. 2012 brought us the Hollywood Is Dead ep and earlier this year Jailhous Records put out both the Plot Points single and the new album, Transmissions Down. This latest album was produced by Bouncing Souls guitarist Pete Steinkopf. You can check out their music here : http://thejukeboxromantics.bandcamp.com/.

Blending street punk and pop punk and influenced by the likes of The Bouncing Souls, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Rancid etc, they're a hard working band that tours regularly and has built up a loyal fanbase.

From the latest album, this is Living With Sin. ("Living With Sin" dives into the idea of what our country has become and how much a part of the system you/we want to be. Spending money on US products, working insane hours and supporting yourself and the country while at the same time political and police corruption are as high as ever. So the question(s) being asked are, how much do I need to contribute? Is it worth it? Am I good enough? Is this place just falling apart and should we just leave? Questioning the government and validating ones hard work.)

These days, I still feel ashamed.
The game’s the same, but the fucking rules have changed.
Wondering if you could, wondering if you would.
Would look for those to save, or could tell me who’s to blame.
Where’s my country gone?
Where’s my country gone?

They sold out, we bought in.
A new America we were dying to win.
These awful times are leaving us behind.

I’m doing the best I can, spending all I have. Don’t leave me behind
My problems can be purchased all the time.
These days the world is full of thieves; we’re watching the police.
It’s really gone to hell.
It’s really gone to hell.

They sold out, we bought in.
These were the backs that would never bend.
They sold out, we bought in.
A new America we were dying to win.
They sold out, we bought in.
To the new politics of living rich sins.
These awful times are leaving us behind.

America, thanks for the good times.
Those days are over
My days are grey and black and here to stay.
Folding on a winning hand we’re cashing out and giving in.
These are the days we pissed away staring at the sun.
